This is what drives me crazy. I understand that Sunday night CBS it's known that you need to pad. But a game with a 5:05 tip? Why not schedule 60 minutes at 8pm and then the other show accordingly. There is not way that a game would go 1:55. I don't mind a pad for an over expected over run but this is just shitty scheduling.

I don't think CBS really cares about those of us who set our DVRs to record the program. The broadcast ratings have to be better if there is a slight overrun (on CBS for the game stay on CBS for the night or switch to watch 60 Minutes or Amazing Race and stay on until they start, etc...).

I adjust my AR recordings weeks in advance (it messes up my HBO recordings when I have to do the overrun), and I was surprised that they have the Masters set to finish at 6 ET.

Stupid cowboys. They seemed pretty sharp the first few legs, but have screwed up big time the last couple. Still hate the horrible lesbians, the gay brothers, and the dumb beauty queen and her almost-as-dumb boyfriend. If the cowboys go next, I guess I'll be pulling for the father/daughter followed by the cops.

How hard is it to walk around the cart just once to look for any that might have fallen out?

I'm rooting for the cowboys but not opening the bottle? Come on!! The dumbest slip ever. I really see the father and daughter winning the whole thing.

Loved the gratuitous slow-mo of Caite bouncing out of the water.

as well as grabbing her assets after they boarded the boat. Before she mentioned that the water felt good because she felt dirty.

I think it's anonymous among people who watch this show that the father and daughter team are who we want to win.

I like the attitude of the Cowboys. And I'm certain they'll all be leaving the seychelles on the same flight, so they should have a decent chance to complete the speed bump and still be in it

As much as it surprises me based on the early episodes, I've actually grown to kinda like the cops.

Figured this one would be non-elimination at the beginning.

Are teams allowed to go back and get their bags after checking into the pitstop? They were making a big deal about the father and daughter leaving their bags, but never really closed it out.

I don't know. I recall a team last season not checking in with there bags (and passport) and they were not allowed to check in. They had to go back and find it, which I don't think they ever did?

Not only that, but none of the teams had their bags at the pitstop, since all of them swam from the boats then right to the pitstop. Granted, their bags are not on the boat either, but it's not like they are the only ones who need to retrieve them from somewhere...

I wondered that too, since teams check in without bags all the time. If those teams can go back and get their bags, I don't see why this team couldn't go back and get their bags.

I think they decided not to go back and get their bags and risking finishing last.. if they checked in and decided then to get their bags they would have sacrificed their check in number. I think you only need your passport to go on.

That team lost their Passports, so they couldn't continue with the race. The Father/ Daughter team had their fanny pack with them, so they have money and passports.

You know the AR producers are telling them that the only place to drop off your bag on that leg was on the beach before swimming out, because they left them at the detour they can't go back and get it. That's what i'm guessing.

The passport deal - not being allowed to check in - is completely understandable.

But like I said - teams check in w/o bags all the time. So they must be going back and picking them up afterwards with no sacrifice.

Re: The Amazing Race 16 -- "Anonymous?" -- 03/28/10

I wonder if the AR crew actually pick up the dad/daughter's bags, but just not let them have it until the end of the race. And even if they do pick it up, they don't tell them either.

or the AR crew doesn't care and just leaves it out there for other people to take. Tough luck?

???

Yes, they check in without bags all the time, but I think this is one of the "unseen" parts of the race. I'd bet they have drops where you can leave your bags prior to running to the finish line. Or at least a rule that says as long as your bags are within 200 feet, you can run in without them. Something like that.

Since they made such a big deal about the father and daughter leaving their bags, I'm betting they won't get them back and TAR will just save them for them at the end of the race. They'll likely just have the clothes on their back and passports...and of course anything they purchase at this point. (A season or two ago one team purchased new shoes along the way.)
