It is horrible.

I loved it. Totally worth the wait for his backstory and how much I missed the old flashbacks.

The part at the beginning when Richard laughed and claimed he had no idea what to do was great. Right in line with him jumping out of the bushes all season.

just kidding, this episode had a pretty awesome mythic/spiritual dimension to it. I only wish they'd had elaborated on the 'i watched them all die' comment he made last season.

The funny thing is Darlton claimed they would tell us what the island is this season, and hinted it was a four letter word with a vowel, which wasn't A or E. I guess it was 'cork'.

My money was on port... which is probably what was in the bottle... so I was correct! HA!

The island basically acts as a "holding cell" for the devil. However, if the MIB is the devil then who designated Jacob the gatekeeper and are they related?

Was it ever confirmed that the ship they saw that day was the Black Rock?

Honestly, I don't think we're ever going to find out anything about Jacob's powers, perhaps not even what makes the monster tick. I think thats why Darlton threw out the midichlorian reference when talking about answering certain things.
