My theory is that Charles Widmore taught him to dress like a man of sophistication.

There's a fan theory for everything else on the show, so why not throw that wrench into the mix?

He meant the Royal Hell. You know, the editorial Hell.

Is it just me or are the sets of this episode better than the norm?

Did they have access to some old PotC sets or what?

If the island is hell then the writes have been big fucking liars all along. And how can people in hell interact with people from the real world? Doesn't make any fucking sense if true.

Yeah I don't think Richard meant the island is the actual Hell.

I'm sorry, but the episode isn't over. I think it's more about why Richard thinks the island is Hell.

Wish we had a Richard episode a long time ago. I like where this episode is going.

It would have given too much away too early on in the series. The writers want to be able to have the drop on us until the very end.

The writers have denied the theory that the island is purgatory.
