I thought this premiered on ABCF?

Been a fan since the beginning. Not the greatest show out there or ever, but the 42min entertainment it brings is well worth it.
I usually only watch shows that don't consist of 1-off stories; examples-Lost, BSG, 24, Prison Break, etc...
Been a D&D gamer since the early 80's, so this is as close as it gets to pure fantasy...although, Merlin 2nd season premieres here in the USA very shortly...like that show too...

Wiki says that Tribune has decided not to pick up a 3rd season, but that doesn't mean somebody else won't. So as of now, it's not cancelled per se. I find it hard to believe that they weren't happy with ratings. You put out a syndicated show for the first time in perhaps a decade - what did you expect?

Re: 'Legend of the Seek' Cancelled.
Yeah, the news is a total bummer - it was one of the remaining 2 shows I was hoping would get a new season (now just waiting to hear if "Human Target" will make it).
Not the deepest show, but I liked the fantasy setting & enjoyed the energy it had (not to mention Bridget Regan & Tabrett Bethell are ridiculously beautiful

That totally blows. I love this show and really liked how it was getting better as it progressed.
I'm surprised they couldn't get Sy-Fy to pick it up.

My heart sank a little when they did the previews at the end of this week's episode and the VO said "the countdown to the epic season finale continues". I guess it's series finale now. I hope they repeat what they did with the season one finale and wrap up the story. I was very pleasantly surprised when they did it the first time.

Re: 'Legend of the Seek' Cancelled.
Well each season was meant to (loosely) follow one book from The Sword of Truth series and each book is a standalone read, despite forming a larger series. So I wouldn't expect a cliffhanger.
Still, I'm surprised they said "season" rather than "series". It may be nothing but perhaps there's a small chance it might get picked up?
I still wish Sy-Fy would pick it up. Or if we got a Serenity-esque theatrical release. Though I'd rather get the former than the latter.

According to Matt Roush:

I'm really boggled that SyFy would skip on this. All of the upfront costs seem sunk, so I don't feel like they'd be picking up a full bill. Seems money better spent than their SyFy Original movies. Plus they'd get boat loads of good PR.
And in news that rubbed some very vocal fantasy fans the wrong way, it was confirmed that the syndicated Legend of the Seeker will not see a third year. This was pretty much preordained once many Tribune stations dropped the show, and the studio has been unable to find a new buyer. (According to a source via twitter, Syfy also passed.) Fans are rallying online—links that have called to my attention can be found here and here—and while I’d never discourage fan advocacy, the hurdles in resurrecting this series appear steep indeed. (But hey, look what happened to Jericho.) For one thing, there’s no network to lobby in the world of syndication. It’s a marketplace economics issue, and according to various reports it looks grim overseas as well as in the domestic market, and without an outlet to distribute the show, there’s little incentive to keep producing it. That’s the grim reality. Seeker is also disadvantaged by the lack of other first-run scripted programming in syndication for it to be packaged with. Good luck, Seekers of miracles. They’ll need it.

Re: 'Legend of the Seek' Cancelled.
I just caught up on the last few episodes I needed to see. Craig Parker was fantastic in Walter and Tabrett Bethell and the core cast really got to shine in Princess. And both Tabrett Bethell and Craig Parker stole all of Extinction. Bruce Spence always manages to be funny and badass in such an effortless manner. Meanwhile Bridget Regan and Craig Horner have great chemistry together. Hell, the whole cast fits perfectly together.
I seriously don't get what's up with the monkeys running SyFy. Their movies suck and here is an awesome show that is essentially a series of awesome mini-movies (that horrible clip-show episode called Creator notwithstanding). It's essentially a fantasy equivalent of Human Target with an already established fanbase. All they have to do is air the first two seasons at a regular schedule (at a reasonable time of day) that would lead into the airing of a third season.
Is there any chance Sam Raimi could pull aFirefly/Serenity or The X-Files (albeit successfully) and continue this as a series of movies (one for each book/season)?

Re: 'Legend of the Seek' Cancelled.
Now that Battlestar Galactica is off the air I watch NOTHING on SyFy.
And I love Sci-Fi/Fantasy....and yet none of the crap on that channel is worth my time.
Legend of the Seeker seems tailor made for that channel. The SyFy brass amazes me with their stupidity, starting with the decision to rename the channel SyFy.

Re: 'Legend of the Seek' Cancelled.
I just finished watching Eternity. At first I thought it was going be filler but it turned out to be a solid and important episode.
Anyone know how many episodes there are this season? If 21, like last season, next week is the series finale.

Thanks, Chew. I hate to see this show end but a two-part finale sounds sweet.

I hope they get just that. I'm not ready to let this show go.

Saw and enjoyed the latest episode, Unbroken, today. At first I was afraid this was to be another clip show (last season had two) but it turned out to be very solid. I really enjoyed the different callbacks to season one and earlier this season. I see they're still optimistically calling next week's episode a "season" finale rather than a "series" finale. I hope that proves true.

DirecTV is adding WGN HD on Wednesday.
Just in time to see my first and only episode of Seeker in HD this Saturday.

Thanks for pointing out my error, Chew. I corrected my post.
The show, Tabrett Bethell, and Bridget Regan are beautiful in HD.
I saw an ad for some new shitty looking medieval fantasy flick and SyFy and all I could think was "why?" They waste money on crap like that rather than pick up this show.
