Except that it looks like you don't necessarily have to watch prior seasons before this one because this season is kind of starting fresh. There are only a few characters returning from last season and even fewer from previous seasons.

All you need to know is that Jack is a badass and by all rights should have SEVERAL holidays named in his honor. Actually the United States should really just be renamed Bauerland and the country probably wouldn't exist if not for Jack.
