By the way, there were three Oz veterans in one scene tonight. Batista, LaGuarta, and the guy who played Schillinger's son.
Other ex-Oz players on this show include Cyril O'Reilly and Doakes. I'm sure there are others I've forgotten.

Holy crap, I totally forgot that he was Schillinger's son. I recognized him from The Shield...IIRC he was a suspect for something in the first season.

^couldn't agree more. In fact I think he was a lot better on Oz then he currently is on Dexter

Pretty good how they set everything up in regards to Dexter's secret remaining relatively safe. To Trinity, Dexter can still play the part of blackmailer, and he can get away with offing Trinity because he framed the now "missing" truck driver.

It might be interesting if Trinity decides to confess, which would make the police go absolutely crazy wondering why this truck driver had all of Trinity's stuff. I don't know why Trinity would do that, but it would be a huge twist.
And I'm guessing either LaGuerta or Batista die this season, because they're getting so close.

Yeah, the Oz actors are all over the place, especially the NY based shows like Law and Order. I'm glad J.K. Simmons's career has taken off. You see him in everything these days.

I think it's hilarious the Captain has a huge problem with Batista and LaGuarta dating - but doesn't seem to care that Deb dated a serial killer and Quinn dated a murderer/serial-killer's daughter, not to mention the Bay Harbor Butcher (Doakes) was a cop there. I'm thinking the priorities are a tad messed up.

Saw Christine blowing her head off coming a mile away - was hoping she would finish off Deb. Sorry, still can't buy her killing someone to get approval from her father. It's just silly.
I loved the expression on Dexter's face when he saw Trinity and the slo-mo of him coming out to "intercept" him.

They have to be building towards something with the LaGuerta/Batista storyline. It's fucking horrible, so there must be an underlying reason they are cramming it into this season. I'm guessing one of them will be dead after next Sunday.

You would think that, but we did have the Internal Affairs investigation of Quinn storyline last season. That was pretty damn pointless and a waste of time. So it doesn't necessarily mean LaGuerta/Batista will be anything more than a romantic sub-plot that (at the very least) gives some personal dimension to a couple of characters. I do wish they didn't include it though.

Great episode this week. Was great seeing Trinity pull a Dillinger by walking into the homicide investigation room to check out his case. Finale next week looks awesome.

I couldn't suspend disbelief enough to deal with Deb's horrible breach of officer safety when she was in the reporter's apartment. Terrible, just terrible.

Yeah, once there was suspicion on the reporter of shooting Deb, I don't see how she was still on that case. I guess it helps that Miami's homicide division only has two or three detectives.

As far as any of the supporting character side plot angles playing out in the finale. I wouldnt count on it.
The last season was the first time the show was renewed for two more seasons, not one, so they knew they could add little character stuff this year and have it play out later... I'm sure that makes everyone thrilled and waiting on the edges of their seat to see the home life of LaGuerta & Batista next year.

Next season LaGuerta and Batista go insane and become the "Rolled R Killers." Mark my words.
And yes, it's always been necessary to suspend disbelief with this show. Having a creepy looking civilian wander up to homicide and poke around the room containing all of the serial killer data wouldn't raise any eyebrows?
