A valid point, and one of the problems of the original V. The proposed V remake in the late 80s solved that issue by stating that yes, the Visitors needed food and water, but they also needed troops and a staging point for their war against another space-traveling species.

Re: "V" -- Fall Finale -- "It's Only the Beginning" -- 11/24/09

they mentioned using humans as troops in the original V too

the new V should have been the supreme commander's enemy from the first V, the ones the humans sent a message to
wouldn't be great if instead of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" it became "the enemy of my enemy is even worse than my original enemy"

Exactly what I was thinking. Ignore The Final Battle, ignore the series, have it as a future in the universe of the first miniseries. That seems to be the plot of the recent novel (which I haven't read)

And I bet you money that Anna's "daughter" falls in love with doucheboy and turns on Mommy.

Edit to add one more thing....

So you are telling me that the V can tell that Scott Wolf had acne when he was 12 and a toothache at 16 etc, but cant tell that the pregnant woman's fetus is part alien?!?!
I was assuming that was how the guy would get discovered. I figured that they knew, but did not tell her what she was carrying.

Also, you would think we have learned that no matter your technological superiority it's tough dealing with people on their native turf. So even though they could wipe us all out, that may cause too much damage to our planet, and just enslaving leaves us as "insurgents." Converting us is much more practical.

Are you assuming the V doctors didn't implant the fetus?

Well....no. For two reasons. First, she went to the doctors in the first place because she couldn't figure out why she was sick. So its probably some sort of alien morning sickness, so she already had the baby.

Secondly, I think that the whole thing with Anna and her daughter is going to be about using the FBI kid to father the first alien baby.

How do we know it's his baby? Maybe she cheated on him.

That's what I was thinking. You would think an alien sleeper would have some sort of fool-proof birth control or be sterilized because obviously a human giving birth to an alien baby would be a big tip-off.

His response was obviously troubled so either he is worried about her having an alien baby or he is thinking she cheated on him.

although in reality there's no way an alien is going to breed with a human naturally so he wouldn't really need to be sterilized

I would love it if those ships were actually enemy ships that the V's were on the run from. Can you imagine how great a twist that would be if there was an alien race more bad ass that were after them.

I would also enjoy it if they would focus on the Military, and how their handling this. Is there a conflict between the Military, and the Government? What are they thinking at the pentagon? Do they have any kind plan on how to deal with them if need be? Have they possibly captured any V's?

The ship technology looked like the V ships, so I am guessing that's what they are. Of course, perhaps the V's have different nations who wage war on each other just like we do.

It is of course the job of the military to have annihilation plans for people we have no intent to annihilate. They are called contingency plans. If they don't have one for v's, they should be fired. However, we probably don't know enough about them to know if the plan is any good. (We can't capture someone with whom we are not at war.)

One thing I'm curious about is Lisa being Anna's daughter. Is it her daughter in the most literal sense or more of a Anna is the Queen of the Colony where everyone is her child? For some reason, it feels more like the latter to me.

Lisa is the only Vistor calling Anna "Mother" through. All the others have called her "Anna," even when humans aren't around.
