The end got cut off on my DVR. After they do the long pull-out through space to the nebula, I saw the beginning of a ship...what did they show after that? A bunch of ships?

Boo to the tired "14 hours earlier..." gimmick!

Not just a bunch of ships...



It was EPIC!!!

And what a curveball! I was so shocked that he really shot someone who was standing right behind her. I thought for sure they were going to kill off the main character.

Yes.

I think that's the fastest they've circled back around to the scene, too. Most episodes that do that get back to the scene around the end of the episode, this one did it before the episode was halfway over.

As much as I hate to defend this show, I've got to say that this made sense, actually. It wasn't just a bunch of TNT lying around, but it was a "failsafe" built into the V's security system for that place. Considering the importance of the Vs remaining hidden, it makes sense that they'd have some way to erase evidence of their actions, if necessary.

Now, I will say that it's a little silly that the "blow up the whole building" option in the system wasn't, oh, password protected or something.

I've liked the series so far, but this was by far the weakest episode. I like that the are picking up some of the storylines from the original series
- Valerie having the V baby(ies) from Ryan, Robin Maxwell had Brian's twins in the original
- Tyler's infatuation with the visitors, this was Daniel Bernstein in the original
- Ryan being friendly with humans, this was Willie in the original although he wasn't member of Fifth Column
- The whole Fifth Column aspect with spies on Diana's ship

This episode was very bland. The only new developments was Erica learning about the Fifth Column and Ryan being a visitor, and Tyler being more and more infatuated with Lisa, Anna, and the Vs. The shooting of Georgie, destroying the flue shot factory, showing the Bliss, all of that was kind of boring.

Frankly, I thought this was best episode yet, even with the tired "14 hours earlier" (at least that was resolved early). I found the whole Anna 'bliss' thing interesting - obviously she is god-like to the Visitors.

The kid is really beyond annoying.

Eh, at least they mixed it up a little. Figured that the shooting would be the season* cliffhanger, and they resolved it fairly early on.

*If a two part movie is a "mini-series", a four episode run counts as a season.

Anna:

You know, while I love looking at Elizabeth Mitchell, that would have been one hell of a cliffhanger had they gone through with such a scenario and definitely created buzz to maintain interest in the series over the coming months. I was actually thinking that when the V assassin got the priest it was going to be a little montage of these resistance fighters being wiped out. It would have also made sense, as this is only the fourth ep. and left plenty of room for the development of a new resistance.

Morenna plays this role so well. Love the way she comes across as both civil yet incredibly frightening at the same time.

Not sure why we're spoilerizing as the ep. has already aired, but

I wondered about that, too - why would removing their "costume" skin kill them? I imagine that they had to connect nerve endings to the fake skin so that their deception would be realistic, but that would cause lots of pain, not death, if removed.

Also, what is it about Anna that she can provide the "bliss" to everyone? Could another V do the same thing with access to the technology Anna used? If so, is Anna concerned that another V might challenge her leadership?

The fleet on its way to earth is obviously an invasion fleet, and I would think that the Vs on those ships are not impersonating humans.

Also: the SCRUBS promo was great, with Zach Braff's face appearing on the V ship screens. Loved the parting line where he tells the crowd "hey, they're lizards!"

Well, this episode didn't do the job that it was supposed to. It was supposed to make me hungry for more episodes next year. Instead, it just left me with a shrug. I'm still sticking with the show, but I think this was the most disappointing ep of the season. Also, after all the build-up, that's the bliss?

That cracked me up.

Well I for one am going to miss my weekly MST3K-style viewing of V. The show is so bad that we actually enjoy watching it just to tear it apart. Deep down beneath its shiny veneer it really is just good old fashioned bad TV.

Damn, that Scott Wolf is a good actor.

Ratings for this episode were on par with last. Good news.

That had me rolling as well.

I thought the V (victory) was the symbol of the resistance in the original series. That's a pretty big jump for it to now be used as the main symbol for visitor propaganda. Sorry if this has been discussed, but I just watched all 4 episodes.

I didn't quite understand what "Bliss" was. Was some kind of drug being given to them somehow or was it just words from their leader to make them feel good. I didn't get it.
