I get that but earlier it was stated how delicate the book was and how sealed it needed to be. It just seemed like an odd gamble for Neal and Mozzie.

Very odd new opening sequence. It had a very whimsical tone/look to it. I didn't hate it like most of you. But, they should have just taken the old opening and replaced a few shots.

I liked the episode. The season is indeed off to a really fun start. Even though Hilarie Burton is technically a series regular, I'm glad the writer of this episode didn't force her in here.

Okay, I was also a little annoyed that Mozzie took that gamble with the drill. Even though it was a forgery, the planetarium guy said it was a air pressure protected environment for the book and wouldn't the real one have vaporized to much as well?

 Nice to see Anna Chlumsky again on USA. She looks really hot with the glasses. I have to assume she will eventually come back. I liked how Neal managed to schmooze the information about the list from her.

Decent episode, however, the new title sequence is deplorable.

Anna Chlumsky

Ive been watching the show since day 1! ..... and I have NO fucking idea who that chick in the pic is. Is that the one Neal was kissing? I have NO idea where she came from and who she is. I thought it was his ex thief girl that came out for awhile and they changed acresses

Did you watch season 2 with 1 eye closed? ;) That is Hilarie Burton. She plays Sara Ellis, an Insurance agent who was a nemesis to Neal. She appeared in 6 episodes last season and became a series regular this season. She and Neal eventually hooked up last season. She was in the premiere last week.

The thief your talking about is Alex (Gloria Votsis)

One has to suspend belief about the book. For while the book was really really old are we to believe that the book had always been protected from the air? And if we are to believe that then the electronics for the page turner wouldn't have been possible. The page turner would have been mechanical. But, if there were electonics for the page turner then at some point in the past decade or so the book would have been exposed to the air and at the rate it disintegrated it would have disintegrated then, albeit slower. So no, I thought it fairly obvious this was a modern creation to do what it did so the scavenger hunt could continue. The dead dude just hadn't factored in the kidnapping of his grand-daughter.

Fun episode. The credits are just...okay.

 at Satchmo getting to do more interesting detective work than Elizabeth!

Good to see the Masterson brothers getting work...loved That 70s Show and Malcolm in the Middle.

This episode was probably my favorite of the series. Just a blast beginning to end. I love the way Dekay played Burke's, almost child-like, enthusiasm for the treasure hunt, especially during the lunch scene with Elizabeth.

I had no issues with Neal & Mozz discussing the Degas. The way Neal dresses why would a bystander think he was anything but a rich art collector? It's not like they were discussing it at FBI HQ.

Great episode. Loved the treasure hunt and Peter's enthusiasm for it. Was also glad to see Satchmo used by Mozzie at the museum, that was hilarious.

Well, they did discuss it while standing three feet away from the Chlumsky character in the bar. Mozzie had been at the bar keeping an eye on her when Neal comes in. Neal should not have even acknowledged Mozzie in any way, let alone have a conversation with him about stolen art while standing right next to a woman who was consulting with the FBI about that very same art. I realize it's done for the viewer's benefit, as kind of an expository dialogue, but they are supposed to be master con men and they would never risk even a nod or wink to each other in that situation. It's just poor writing. I had a similar problem with Neal talking to the "blind man" in the lobby of the planetarium.

Not a huge deal--I still liked the episode plenty.

Not my favorite ep., way too predictable for one thing, but next week's looks GREAT...

 at Peter dramatically taking off his glasses as the FDA agent.

I really liked this episode. This show has hit its stride - I like the Nazi treasure arc more than the Kate/music box arcs from the first two seasons.

Re: White Collar -- "Deadline" -- 6/21/11

 Diana going undercover as a "British" assistant was brilliant. if you didn't already know, Marsha Thomason is British. I loved how she kept going back and forth from her natural speaking voice to the American accent.

 Diana's girlfriend Christie. Loved the little dinner date.

 at Mozzie barging in on Neal and Sara.

Mozzie: "Next time your going to do that, put a sock on the doorknob"

 Very fun case. I think White Collar can almost be categorized as a serial drama now since the main arc ties into every episode. As I said 2 weeks ago, I think this new arc is awesome. Loving the cat and mouse game between Neal and Peter. The little glares they gave each other at the end was great.

I was just reading the White Collar facebook page and there were actually dozens of people who had no clue that Diana was gay until this episode. Alot of them actually said they are done with the show because of it.

That's stupid! At the very least, they could just pretend she's bi.
Didn't they establish the lesbian fact a while back, when Neal hit on her, and she told him she wasn't into guys?

Diana originally appeared in the Pilot and they already established that she was gay. This was the 1st episode they showed her mysterious girlfriend.

I've only caught bits and pieces of this show but have enjoyed what I've seen. I like the guy from Chuck.

You should seriously consider watching this show regularly. It's IMO one of the best written dramas on USA. If you like Bomer from Chuck, you will probably like his character here. I think it's a mix of Chuck, but not as goofy and a little bit of Leverage from TNT.

You could probably start right here with season 3 since it starts an entirely new arc and it's not hard to pick up on the characters. We're only 3 episodes in, so you could catch up if you have USA On Demand or Hulu.

Any time I've seen it, it has been purely by accident stumbling across it. It does seem to be an interesting show. Matt Bomer was good on Chuck with what he was given to. Even with his good looks they seem to keep him grounded and not make him look like a mannequin douchebag.

As far as catching up on past episodes, I have rabbit ears and a Betamax, will that help? ;) I'll check out HULU

....Oh so your one of those people with no cable huh? Season 1 and 2 are on DVD, you can get them on Netflix.

Season 3 is on Hulu. Episode 1 and 2 are up right now, but they will expire soon. Future episodes (this one included) will be delayed 30 days.

Thought it was a good episode. Diana did a good job as the assistant, and  at Mozzie busting in on Neil and Sarah.

I also like that Neil and Mozzie didn't have things go the way they wanted at the end. I love the overall story arc, to me this show has the perfect balance of the overall arc with the story of the week.
