Thankfully, I didn't start it. I had a feeling this one was going to be canceled. So glad I didn't invest my time. Now I can free up space on my TiVo.

That Beautiful Life show on CW is horrible and will probably get canned if it hasn't already.

I know the ratings are through the roof and it probably won't happen.
But... NCIS: LA is probably the worse thing on Tv next to Mercy.
LL Cool J can not act. Chris O'Donnell is lost in this. The writing is horrible.. as is the directing. I gave it two weeks. I couldn't even finish this weeks episode. Horrible.

It never ceases to amaze me that crap like this draws in the viewers but the absolute brilliant FNL continues to sink to the bottom. What the hell is wrong with people?

I said it in the ratings thread, but I would guess Fox would move Fringe to Fridays before they would outright cancel it.

or, how about move it to any other day/time than the fucking ridiculously congested Thursday at 9PM timeslot.

I mean, is it really worth it to be 4th or 5th in ratings on a Thursday at 9PM rather than first or second on a Tuesday or Wednesday? Thursdays don't mean shit anymore, with the advent of tivo, hulu, VOD, etc, it's just more of an inconvenience that these fucktard networks still cram all of their "golden" shows on that one particular night.

The second episode was worse.

I corrected my misspelling of 'draws' in my op. oy.

Have to add "Hank" as a potential early cancellation victim this season.

Yes. It'll either be really good news or really bad news. I'm still waiting to hear the official word. Pretty sure it'll be good news though as JJ has a nice pull at the network (and they greenlit his comedy). I'll post if I hear anything more. Fringe is tonight, Thursdays, right?

This and The Middle may be goners to make room for Ted/Scrubs come January. Plus ABC still has a few 1 hour shows they need to put on the schedule (V, Happy Town, Lost etc.). No way are they going to fit everything.

I'd wager Hank, The Middle, Castle, Forgotten and possibly Eastwick will be gone by 2010. Castle is the cheapest show out of the hour dramas so it might stay.

Mercy is also likely done after they finish airing the 13 episode commitment. NBC has mid-season shows ready (Parenthood, Chuck) and the Olympics.

Oh, I agree. But I'm not a Fox exec. I'm just saying that based on their typical patterns, they are more likely to move it to Friday as a pre-death sentence before they outright cancel it.

Fox has a few of moves here. They could swap Lie to Me (which is struggling on Mondays) with Fringe, although that is still not an ideal spot for Fringe, and it would do nothing for Lie to Me. They could also move the SYTYCD results show to Thursday, bump Glee up an hour, and move Fringe to 9pm. But Glee pairs with SYTYCD better than it does with Fringe, and it will provide less of a lead-in audiences than Bones does. They could also wait and re-pair Fringe with Idol come January, but by then it may be too late. I don't see them disturbing their Sunday animation block.

Actually, a triple swap (Fringe to Monday, Lie to Me to Wednesday, and SYTYCD results to Thursday) might be best overall... but it's dangerous to shuffle so many shows at once right after you've just moved them.

The Middle was fresh when it was called Malcolm in the Middle, 9 years ago.

Sorry. Although it was better then Hank. The Middle and Accidentally on Purpose need to leave TV immediately.

I still can't believe we lost Life for the Jay Leno Show, Mercy and Trauma.

Fringe won't go after House - especially with far too many Monday shows. It's possible Lie to Me might go after Bones (but not likely, something else might be slotted there) and Fringe moved to more of a beautiful timeslot. Monday and Thursdays are very competitive and Fox may want Fringe to pick a night (not Friday) where it can grow.

Life had pathetic ratings - it wouldn't be coming back regardless about Leno, Mercy or Trauma. NBC has other shows they could have aired already (Southland, Chuck, Parenthood) but pushed them instead. Fact is, 2 of those 3 shows will likely be gone by 2010.

Re: And the first new series to be cancelled will be????

Lie to Me is tentatively slated to run only 13 episodes and will be replaced by 24 come Januaury. If it gets a back 9 order. I think it will get a post Idol spot on either Tuesday or Wednesday like last season. Since Glee got a back 9 order as well, it also could go either Tuesday or Wednesday post-Idol. But then, FOX also has Human Target with Mark Valley which is slated to run Wednesday's at 9pm, so there is a little bit of a cluster fuck here, if Lie to Me does get it's back 9.

I think the bottom line is Fringe is staying put on Thursday at 9pm.

No, it's not. Well, I'll say there is a chance it might, but if so, you'll see why soon enough. I think Fox is taking a little break right now to figure out there sweeps schedule and some things may be pulled.

Human Target is so DOA. Just like Brothers. Atleast in Brothers case Fox has 30+ episodes of Til Death they can drop in at anytime. Dollhouse will likely either get the back nine or something like Lie to Me may go there. Fringe won't, House won't, Bones won't.

I often check ratings here:

It has Mercy on wait and see. Strange that Comcast was rumored to buy NBC.
