Re: Star Trek Sheep: The Next Generation

Is the Family Guy question still up for debate? Because I have yet to see a decent counter argument to what WallyOPD wrote. It was brought back due to fan action. Period.

It's still up for debate, sure, but I wasn't convinced by his argument then and I'm not any more convinced now.

You can buy a product and not be a "fan" of it. Fan indicates fanatic. I buy peanut butter but I am not fanatical about it.

Apparently, the counter argument is that all those DVD purchases and syndicated ratings were caused by non-fans. I don't get it either.

How is buying DVD's not a fan action? Spending money on a product is probably the most effective way of showing support.

I did some frantic research between Star Trek games. I did not remember what NX-01 was though.

http://www.usatoday.com/life/televis...mily-guy_x.htm

As many as 35 new episodes could return in January 2005, marking the first time that a canceled series has been revived based on strong DVD demand and ratings in syndication.

DVD and cable viewers have "created kind of a groundswell that could lead to better ratings" on Fox, Grushow says, although new episodes could end up going directly to Cartoon Network.

The obvious answer sometimes pays off in Reverse Sheep.

This was not one of those times.

Re: Star Trek Sheep: The Next Generation

So if you hated the show (non-fan) you watched it, giving it high ratings? Fans bought more of the sets than expected, and syndication ratings were high - do non-fans love reruns of a show they didn't like the first time? That is fan action.

So either you don't consider watching syndicated episodes or buying DVDs to be action, or you don't consider the people doing those actions to be fans. Either way that just seems ridiculous.
