Neither did the Love Connection guests. The interview came after the date.

I disagree. Also, that choice was made off camera - taking any game aspect out of the show.

And the contestant on The Dating Game read questions provided by the show.

So what. Alex Trebek reads questions provided by the Jeopardy producers. The Dating Game contestants still makes the selection during the show based on the most 'right' answers.

But all game show contestants go through an audition process before being accepted for the show. It sounds like Love Connection gave a prize first and then they appeared on the show and talked about it?

It's kind of like Blind Date but they talk about it on the show instead of on camera?

Blind Date isn't a game show.

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

The only "game show" aspect to Love Connection took place during the audience vote. If the audience and the guest agreed on who they wanted to go out with again, they got some money to go on another date.

Overall, if it's a game show, it's a very weak one.

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

Wait, you said there is a prize that the audience votes on?

Hmm...would America's Funniest Home Videos be considered a game show?

We can agree on that point, the show sounds pretty lame.

wiki says "The show was a variant of The Dating Game in which a bachelor or bachelorette would select from three potential dates of the opposite sex."

Love Connection contestests make a selection based upon 'right' answers they hear as well.

I think that's more of a game show than Love Connection. Same with The Bachelor/Bachelorette.

Off camera. If the game aspect isn't on the show, then it ain't a game show.

Game: they pick and after the interview see if their pick matches the studio audience.

If I go to Vegas and bet football games and then talk about how I did on those bets afterwards on a tv show, is that a game show?

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

These Love Connection answerers arguing to get +7 pts instead of +9 is far more of a game show than Love Connection.

Does a studio audience vote and you see how well you matched on your picks? If you have a high enough % and get to go to the football game would that not be a "prize?"

I don't think so, but it sounds like T.V. gold.

Test your Sheep dedication now! Are you willing to watch a ten-minute video?

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

I have to drive home... I'd love to argue with Red Dog some more but I imagine it will be ruled incorrect and I will somehow be last in the standings to rub salt in the wound.

À bientôt.

I need to see true chronology of how it works, since at least 95% of the show is not a game. It seems clear to me that people who go on the show are there to find love (or at least lust); not to try to match the audience selection.
