OK, i didn't need to watch the whole video. Mark won a date with Linda.

Therefore: Love Connection IS a game show.

I didnt read the whole thread for the arguments, but did people vote The Love Connection as not a game show?

It isn't a prize. It is more of compensation for being on the show. Everyone gets it if they want it. If the audience matched you, the show will pay for another date with that person if both people want to go out again. If the audience didn't pick the same person, the show will offer to pay for a date with the person the audience selected.

No. Not yet. The thought of it not being a game show was so absurd that it wasn't initially going to be entertained, but I've been pursuasive enough to create a 3-page argument and those who dare challenge me are clinging to a +7 instead of the +9 they'll get otherwise.

Thoughts on that video:

1) Damn people in their 20s looked old 20 years ago
2) People 20 years ago didn't know what "fetish" meant
3) Mark? Really?
4) Love Connection is not a game show

IMDB list Love Connection as a Reality Show and Romance, where as Jeopardy is listed as a Game-show. I vote NO to Love Connection.

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

Its a game show where you win a date
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_Connection

Love Connection was an American television game show, where singles tried to find the best date and/or to have something in common with each other. The show debuted in syndication on September 19, 1983 and ended on July 1, 1994, after more than 2,000 shows. Reruns continued to air for the 1994-95 season. It was hosted by Chuck Woolery. The show returned during the 1998-99 season, hosted by Pat Bullard. Love Connection was produced by Eric Lieber Productions in association with and distributed by Telepictures (1983-86, 1998-99), Lorimar-Telepictures (1986-89), Lorimar Television (1989-90), and Warner Bros. Television (1990-94).

As far as I know, yes. Feel free to raise specific objections on any you find questionable.

Omar and Kima.

Re: Do Televisions Dream of Electric Sheep: Round 3!

Im gonna say that both Omar and Kima can be considered non-main characters

Just because Omar was POPULAR does not make him a main characeter

I think you mean dinner, not date. As for the rest, I believe the picker had the option of taking the audience-choice out for dinner - paid for by the producers. If it was different than his or her original pick, that was it.

You could still take the audience choice out if it was different if you gave up on the person you picked

You won a date
