Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 7/21/09
I'm so glad that Robert is gone. I think he was leaving regardless because he is too much of a liability for the network, and if he's actually sent home by Ramsay there won't be any 3rd chances next season. It was a good business decision, and I think that the producers were praying that he'd mess up and get eliminated. The way he spoke to Andy was completely out of line. Robert knew he was on the chopping block and decided to attack the man that was scurrying around at the bottom of the barrel with him.
I also enjoyed Ramsay's tirade against Kevin. He needed it. Suzanne really works my nerves. I hope she's gone next, but it doesn't seem likely by the preview. Maybe the clips were misleading, but they clearly showed Sabrina walking out of the dining room during service. She mentioned herself that if she plates another raw dish she's through.
I know a lot of people don't care for Tenille, but she might be the frontrunner for the red team right now. Ariel was all over the place tonight, but she impressed the Chef's table.

Also glad to see Robert go... based on how combative he was both when the men were talking to figure out who to nominate and with Ramsey, it seemed like he was almost trying to give Ramsey a reason to send him home. While probably not the weakest chef, he was the weakest link on the team.
I wonder if anyone explained to the teams that they were supposed to take orders for the chef's tables? I'm also surprised that they didn't give them menus, even with the chefs back there to explain the food.

Also glad Robert was gone. Seriously, he needs to take care of his health first. And wasn't he actually sweating on the food that he was serving? Talk about nasty...

Dude, next week Robert DIES!!!!1!!!1!!!!
Seriously, the promos Fox has been cutting for this show are outrageous. Anyone catch the quick clip where Ramsay roars like a dinosaur? WTF?
Tenille needs to die, but I love mocking her and making my gf crack up when we watch the show so I can tolerate her for a little bit longer.

I'll say this (and only this) in Robert's defense: I've seen several of them dripping sweat over the food they serve. Last night they showed Andy with a huge bead of sweat dripping from the tip of his nose.

I'm in the camp that Robert was sent home more for the health/liability reason than his cooking. When Ramsay called up Andy, I was sure he was gone until Robert threw out the tongue lashing.
I just hope Van makes it to the final 3 or 4 where the family comes in, just to see his mother with Ramsay.

Kind of sorry to see Robert go, at least he was pretty funny. That guy better lose 200 lbs. though or he'll never live to show his children the tapes of the show. I mean damn, he gets out of the hospital for a heart problem and immediately mows down a cheesburger!
Anyway, I'm pulling for Dave at this point. Who do you all think goes next week?

I like Dave, too. I hope we see the last of Suzanne really soon. She's one of those nudnicks who drives everyone up the wall with her inflated view of herself.

Anyone else think it's not right that the prize of Hell's kitchen is better than that of Top Chef ?
but in the long run the top chef winner will do better because they have better cred

Did anyone notice when Chef Ramsay was yelling at Amanda for the under cooked fish Tek was standing right behind her. I thought Tek was eliminated awhile back. I also see Tenille has become hot stuff in the red kitchen. I knew Chef Ramsay liked her for a reason.

You can tell that all the remaining contestants smoke to have all done so miserably during the palate competition. Clams tasted like spinach? WTF?!

Ramsay ignoring the nominations and eliminating who he wants is BS
He should have to stick to some rulez

Have you followed up on any of the Top Chef winners? Several are unemployed and been laid off. The Top Chef competition is more about who is a better chef while Hells Kitchen is more about who is the better kitchen line running chef.

A while back I read one of Ramsay's books, and I'm pretty damn sure that he said that a chef should never be a smoker, due to the palate issue, so I'm shocked that so many contestants smoke on the show.

I was sad to see Amanda go. Not because she would've won, but she was really cute. I don't have anyone left to ogle.

So many? I think every single contestant in all 6 seasons have been smokers. That's one of the highlights of the show - seeing them puffing away on the back patio whilst bitching and complaining.

Amanda? Really cute? My gf and I kept goofing on the fact that she looked and talked like a retarded child. There has never been a single contestant, imo, worth ogling on this show.

The episode where the ladies were dressing for the beach showed her off in fine form. I'll admit that she sure acted like a goofball though.
