Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 7/21/09

They spoiled the ending in the intro to the final ep by showing Dave crying in a confessional...

Don't any contestant watch past seasons - are they really surprised when they do the reveal of the past contestants?

Spoiler:
I'm glad Dave won, but was surprised a bit.
Either nobody watches past seasons or they're just ordered to look shocked. They should know how to cook risotto, should not be surprised by past contestants and should know that Chef Scott is going to intentionally sabotage them at the pass.

I've said it before...I love this show, but they do the same stuff over and over and over.

I was pleased with the winner though.

I found this season to be very shocking: as far as I could tell, Gordon had neither Beef Wellington nor John Dorry on his menu!

This gave it away for me, too. In addition to the results of both challenges during the final episode, it would've been hard for Ramsey to really make any other call.

It was a bit amusing to see Dave do his best Ramsey impression working the pass. The girl on Kevin's team during the final service was horrrrible, and even seemed oblivious during the camera confessional ("Like, what's the big deal, Kevin, calm down a little..") I wouldn't trust her to cook Easy-Mac for me.

This is the first season I've watched HK, but based solely on Ramsey, I'll probably watch again next year as well; even though I'll expect more of the same. One of the best parts of the show were the outtakes as the credits rolled, seeing Ramsey joke around with the cast and drop the act for a bit.

That's why I don't watch intro's or season previews anymore. Congrats to Dave.

The finale was a pretty big letdown in my opinion. It was only 1 hour instead of the usual 2, and they didn't even design the dining area this year, which they've always done.

I also think it was rushed, but it may have had to do with the MLB playoffs starting soon on Fox. If they didn't do it last night who knows when we would have seen the finale.

I'm glad they didn't design their own dining rooms in the finale.

It's too time-consuming, and plus they're cooks, not designers.

Boy did Amanda sink Kevin's chances, but hey we all know Ramsay chose his winner weeks ago

+1 That whole thing was just pointless and exhausting. I mean the winner is going to a pre-established restaurant not like last season where they were going to have to design the space in Las Vegas.

Bobby was kind of a turd in the final competition too. What an asshole. Please don't bring him back a third time.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 7/21/09

This was pretty anti-climatic as Gordon seemed to have a hard-on for Dave from day one while he was always rather dismissive of Kevin. And I'll say it again just to tie up the end of the season -- how is it even possible to screw up scallops this late in the game? One of the flat-out easiest things to cook for pete's sake.

I saw Dave's hand on the doorknob and all I could think about was how I didn't want him fixing my food. All the dried up blood, cuts and scrapes made me sick.

I wondered why Tenille wasn't there.

Either way I was pulling for Dave during the whole season, so I'm glad he won. I wonder if he'll actually en up in Whistler now.

Yep, no surprises here. Glad to see Dave win. Kevin was a prick, my gf and I couldn't stand him. I hope and pray Bobby doesn't show up again next season. That fat fuck is a revolting blob with a shit attitude.

With Ramsay's restaurants having difficulties right now, I wonder how that will affect his programming on Fox? More? Less?

Loved the finale. Looks like Fox just ordered it for another season and is giving Gordon Ramsay a Christmas cooking special.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 7/21/09

I thought it was funny that Tenille ended up with the same result as that one contestant a couple seasons ago that cooked at a waffle joint. Both fought really hard. I think both made it to the top 4. Then both won the "kids" challenge and were promptly eliminated. It's like that challenge is put in there to reward the chef Gordon really likes but knows shouldn't win the whole thing. It's like their parting gift.

Definitely happy that Dave won over Kevin, who was a pretty big ass all season.

Re: Hell's Kitchen -- Season 6 Thread -- Premieres 7/21/09

Does anyone know when does Hell's Kitchen season 8 starts?

All I could find googling was that in Sept/Oct of last year they were casting for it.
