Part of me would say your right. But it comes down to how he was paid? If he walked out with cash (ya its a lot) then there its tax free for say (like he is going to report it?). If he has to report it then up he is a idiot. Without doing the math I would say they still made $15,000 off of it. I am sure they waited for the show to air, then put it on eBay.
Come to think of it, if they guy did not sell it to them. And if they did air it, he could have sold it also. Who knows there many have been 3 hookers that was ready to give him a really good time?

Re: Pawn Stars on History Channel
He was black. What he did was pawn something at the shop. Then when people went inside and they did not buy it. He would then off them a price closer to what they wanted for it.
The pawn people where piss off at him, saying he was taking their customers. Did this and that, and even went on to say he was using there money. This was all aired.
I read case, from my state and others and just happen to seen a name vs their LTD. Turn out it was him. In short, it was not their money, he pawn something, they gave him money, it was his to do with what he wanted too (he did pay them back).
He did not take their customers being they did not have a deal in place. He was on their place of business but that was a moot point. In short he was given $100,000. He did not sue the TV people.
Read the case, this was not a made for TV show. Did he set it up, maybe. In short the people at the pawn shop have been sue many time. For lost items. If you have time, go read some. This linking is for Calif. Read the minutes. They are not in Calif but I have a link to the courts here as was play a game (Guess the out come).
The same thing has happen to Pawn Stars, lost of items only. Given the size of their warehouse it happen.
BTW I like the Blue, Pawn Stars seems to be selling smurf toys. This has to be line with the movie that just came out.

This is what I do know, my GF Brother used to get to take the cab home after his runs. He ran it into a mud pit (at night, it could happen to any one). In short they called a truck to pull him out, the bummer came off, he had to pay for the pull, the bummer, putting it back on, and now he no longer gets to take it home.
As for the Pawn Stars if you watch you will see close to everyone selling (only the matchbox person pawn his stuff).
FYI there is another Pawn show in short the pawn shop gets 50% of the selling value once its sold.
I buy Hero Props, I have a Helmet from X-men 2 that I did not pay any fee's for. I did bid, I was out bid by 4 other people. Marvel gave them ok to go to the next bidder to buy it for their top bid. They got to me, I said yes but I would not pay the winner/buyer fee. Marvel wanted it sold and I have it. I also have the Tron Disc but paid the fee's.
Back to David, if you own a business really would you give him a job?

Jokes on him, I have nothing to do with Trucking. My GF brother is a Trucker so I know who he is. I would never give this guy a job. Sure I do believe they add this and that to make it more TV still. With all the crap the guy did real or fake would you have him a $300,000 Truck with a load.

I'm a Chef, I do close to all my own cooking. I have my own Cows, Pigs, Chickens, etc (I do not sell them). Where you out to flame me or just asking me? If you never own your own business then what I said would go over your head. If you own your own business then you would understand. You never want to give some JS a jobthat is going to cost you more money (think about the two people who had fun with pizza and posted it on youtube) then they will make for you. If they will do this for a TV show, then they will in most cast do it in your business. Today I am eating Ribeye. I am not rubbing it in your face. Maybe I did get off my point. For that I'm am saying Sorry to you and everyone else.

Yeah... your sarcasm detector is broken. The question I asked was rhetorical. I just didn't think people were that ignorant to use the term "color" anymore when referring to black people. Going based off of your subsequent posts you probably won't understand half of what I'm saying anymore with all these big words.

Rebecca "the book girl" was back this week!
Oh, Rebecca, how I'd love to slip off your jacket and inspect your colophon. I would peruse your pagination while you assess my hardcover.
I'm such a huge fan of her book knowledge.

So what happened to the night shift series? We saw them hire Olivia but I was anticipating a new series.
That teaser they kept playing with the Commodores song in the background said January, didn't it? I was looking forward to a spin-off with more of the shop.

Les Paul guitar shenanigans
Cliff notes:
- "Customer" shown bringing in a Les Paul guitar on an episode of Pawn Stars is actually an employee of a Vegas guitar store
- Expert brought in to appraise the guitar was another employee of the same store
- The guitar in question was one that had been for sale on the guitar store's website
