The first two seasons are the only ones I would recommend.

Re: Weeds - Season 5 Thread
Season 3 wasn't nearly as good as 1 or 2, but it was fine, in my opinion. I haven't seen season 4 or 5 yet--sans the first two or three eps of season 4. From what I've heard, it seems like I shouldn't bother with the series anymore.

It looks like they're trying to bring it back to its roots with the way they brought everyone back together this episode. And of course they'll need to find a source of income to support the new baby...

I love how no one even discusses the episodes any more. We just come on here to say how bad the show is after an episode. I'm in agreement, it's shit.

I think everyone's just waiting for the show to wrap up for good since it's just a mess.
There's barely a storyline going with Silas and Doug selling weed, but they throw it in because that was the whole point to the show and there's nothing else weed-related. Really, not much happens from episode to episode so I don't know what's really there to discuss.

Yeah, this is the first episode where I haven't hated Nancy. If this is a way to get back to the quality of the first two seasons, then I am all for it.

Well, I think Season 3 was the absolute LOW point for the show, so if you thought that was fine, I'm sure you'll enjoy 4 & 5.

I just don't get why they keep Celia around. There isn't a single thing thats likable about her or her character. Just IMO.

I'm really disliking Nancy after these last few eps, especially this last one. I was hoping Andy would stick to his guns and really call Nancy out for her bullshit, which he did, but then he quickly backpeddled and agreed to her deal. It just seems to be a mishmash of shit at this point. I doubt even the writers know what to do with this series.

I don't think this season is that bad - not as bad as the last two, at least.
I just don't really understand the point of the show anymore. It's dead thematically.
And unfortunately, the characters are all losing their depth as well. I mean seriously, how fucking stupid must Doug become? He hasn't been funny all season and he ruins Silas' pot store storyline (which is the only thing of interest at this point, and the only story at all similar to the show's original concept - too bad it's so peripheral).
I also don't buy Andy's decision this episode. Why oh why would he agree to make himself the father of a very dangerous Mexican drug lord's child? Who cares if there's a record of the birth now - it would still be easy to make them all disappear.

Wow, interest must have really dropped. None of you pervs bumped the thread after Nancy whipped her tit out and Andy suckled her in the ladies room?
I continue to be baffled by the fact that Nancy was living each moment in fear of being chopped up and thrown in a landfill after the baby, and now that said baby has been born, she feels comfortable enough to be a complete bitch (granted, it's justified) to the man who could still have her executed. And he has responded by putting marriage back on the table...it just defies logic.

^Well, they did live together for SIX MONTHS and I'm sure some trust and affection was built up in that time...yes, I know she was in fear when the baby was actually born, but I think it's easy to overlook that jump the show took.... I still think this storyline needs to go away and somehow Nancy has to get back to the suburbs and dealing weed with a new baby in tow.

It was good to see Shane get shot. Nothing personal against the character, but we finally get to see a much more direct consequence of Nancy's stupidity all this time. Nothing hit as close to home as this - and I think that was done for it to be the final straw in getting her to smarten up (even though that should've happened long ago).

This last ep really firmed up my feelings that Nancy sucks as a character. I'm so over her emotional-black-hole way of life. I'm only watching out of habit at this point.

Re: Weeds - Season 5 Thread
So, I've just started watching this show over the past few weeks from the beginning. The first season was fun, and the second season was alright though both were not without their problems. But sweet Jesus, the writers on this show don't seem to know what they want to do with the show. So many storylines are wrapped up in such an abrupt, ADD-afflicted manner that it's become difficult to give a shit about any of the situations the characters find themselves in. Meanwhile, other subplots only pop up when they may tangentially serve the story (Celia's breast cancer is the most ridiculous offender in this regard).
I'm at the start of season 4 right now and I think I'm done. Apparently Nancy's taken it upon herself to burn down her home so she'd be closer to the border to become a drug trafficker? Ridiculous. This whole show has gotten to where what little plot there is is driven solely by the characters' bad decisions. I think I was expecting too much from this show in terms of satire about suburban life and the ridiculousness of America's anti-pot crusade.
Anyway, sorry if this qualifies as a threadcrap, but I really had to get that off my chest and I didn't think it warranted starting a new thread.

That's OK. I'm still watching, and I'll keep watching until the end just because of all the time already spent in the show, but believe me the show gets worse than that. You end up hating Nancy.
Other than that, last night episode was a lot of fun.
