Who was the winner of season one and what are they up to today? What about the season three winner?
(this is the first season I decided to watch.)

Season 1 - Bianca Ryan, released an album in 2006. Considering her age (14), she has probably spent of her time in school versus recording studios.
Season 3 - Neal Boyd, his debut CD came out last Tuesday.

Maybe that's why I haven't paid attention...just not that into trying to find a new singer. I like seeing other acts on this show. I wish they could find a break thorough stand up comedian on this show, one who had the ability to win the whole competition. Because Last Comic Standing really hasn't found anybody spectacular.

That's why I liked when Terry Fator won. He did some singing but he added a ventroloquist spin to it. This made the act unique from any other Vegas show and proved AGT could find someone other then just a singer.

This show completely changed premises after Terry Fator won and signed that Vegas contract. In the first season, they just gave the prize to the winner, with no promises or expectations of what they would do with their talent after the show.
After Terry Fator, the focus became "could this act do a Vegas show?" which I think totally changes what kind of acts they look for.

I mean, this lady's entertaining, but does she have a future career doing that?

Really enjoyed the chicken farmer. Loved how Piers looked like he wanted him off the stage as soon as he looked at him. He blew them away!!!

tonights episode really showed what I really hate about it, especially these early ones.
they struggle to put the magician that has an actual shot at winning, and actually having a Las Vegas act. But they are in love with the lady having her dog do tricks, or last nights old woman shaking around. I think the guy tonight was the worst of the magicians, but still at least he has a shot at putting together a real show.

The country singer and the 14 year old from Tuesday were good, I didn't really care for anyone on Wednesday's show.
Didn't they already send a dog act to the next round?
I know next to nothing about country music, when that guy said he writes his own songs, I thought it was original.
The 14 year old has a wikipedia page...

Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ThiaMegia
She's semi-pro. I think most of the acts that make it on this show have to have SOME experience.
Anyone know how many more episodes until they go to Vegas? I'm guessing all these auditions took place months ago...

I definitely love this show, but one thing irritates the hell out of me. It appears the program director has ADD or something. Why the hell can't they hold a shot for more than 5 seconds? It gets me dizzy. When I watch the show, I want to see the act itself and not 25 crowd reaction shots from all different angles or Nick Cannon's reaction 10 times per act. One or two reaction shots OK, but what the heck?
OK...enough complaining....LOL.

i am curious as to how the auditions work. do they have any sort of screening process or do they listen to everyone who shows up?

the talent is lacking ... I just fast forward through almost everything. The singers aren't great, the magicians are not great, the dancers are not great. I just cannot get into this year. Why do they need skip from one City to the next. It take a lot of time up and is almost as bad as the fast cuts.Originally Posted by scoot95

I really doubt that's what he was- or if he was I think he was set up to look like a real redneck, which he clearly was not. The guy definitely had chops with some serious musical experience. The producers clearly must have known before putting him on.Originally Posted by Quack

The Chicken farmer (Kevin Skinner) shocked me. I was really amazed how talented he was. I seriously doubt that whole scenario was setup. There are plenty of diamonds in the rough out there and this show just happens to find.
The hot Russian chick who couldn't sing for shit was excruciating.
BTW, what is up with Sharon. Piers is definitely trigger happy on the buzzer, but she seems to want to let some of the crappiest acts finish their set no matter how horrible they are.
The 14-year old girl Thia was amazing as well. Huge song and she had a damn good voice.

Is it just me, or does it seem like any child act that's remotely competent gets an instant pass to Vegas? There are definitely some really good kid acts out there, but it seems like even the so-so ones get gushing praise. A good example is that group of dancing girls in afro wigs. Sure they were cute and fun, but their act was not really any different than you'd see in any local kids' dance class production.

Agree about the girls with the Afro wigs. I did not see anything remotely interesting about them that would make them an extraordinary act.

Most of the kid acts get cut in the first round of vegas. Last year the little cute girl made it through but i think that was it.

This show is quickly becoming another AI because it has too many professionals on it. Obviously that woman is a classically trained vocalist. They play dumb and edit the show to make her seem like she's just a beginner when clearly she's not. I really dislike the show this year with their serious micromanaging of the talent.Originally Posted by harrydoyle
