I think that's the first CI episode I've watched that didn't have the trademark "Goren screaming at the suspect in the interrogation room while the defense attorney sits and does nothing" scene in it.

I think the only reason Noth is in 11 episodes is becasue that's all they could afford to spend on makeup, he had it caked on this episode.

jaeufraser 02-15-05 04:02 AM

I found the episode interesting, but the end in the hallway I found downright laughable. D'Onofrio takes them out one by one, with a special message for each. It just all seemed so...contrived.

movieking 02-15-05 07:06 PM

Agreed. I hated how the episode ended, with D'Onofrio picking apart the COs. It was horrible.

mikehunt 02-15-05 08:05 PM

just more of his "know it all"-ness

Red Dog 02-16-05 08:49 AM

I see I haven't missed since when I first watched this show when it premiered. The D'Onofrio character is as insufferable as ever.

Bring on Logan!

Cusm 02-16-05 09:29 AM

I caught the reairing of this last night, and I really wish they would dial Goren down about 20 notches. This would be a really good show if they just adjusted this character and the lazy writing.

Did Chris Noth just go on a 10 year spree of killing himself? He looked worse than Lenny did in his last episode.

cdoug57 02-16-05 09:46 AM

More Logan, less Goren = good episode.

Yeah, what the hell happened to him between Big and now?

Did he look this bad when he guested on Jordan a few years back?

ivelostr2 02-16-05 08:05 PM

it will be a hugely different show from one week to the next with them trading off. They aren't even close to being the same type of character. It should be fun.

movieking 02-17-05 06:32 AM

I wish Logan would kill Goren and get away with it. Take Eames out while he is at it. I am not a huge fan of hers either.

Do the other characters even do anything in CI? When I watched the first few eps they didn't. Seems like things haven't changed.

It's too bad they didn't move ADA Carver over to TBJ to give him something to do - Courtney Vance is a fine actor. I'll never forget his guest-starring role in the original L&O where he played the shady stockbroker.

that'd be sweet. then he and a new partner would be investigating that murder in between the normal cases

mikehunt 02-20-05 07:00 PM

Law & Order CI 2/20 on an hour early

on now

movieking 02-20-05 07:11 PM

So no Logan tonight, right?

mikehunt 02-20-05 07:20 PM

doesn't look like it

Law and Order: CI 4/10/05 Plus Drug Use question

Okay, I am partially through this episode now. Can someone explain why there is cocaine residue on the seat, but not on the desk or keyboard? I've never heard of cocaine being taken rectally or vaginally. I can't wrap my head around this one.

mikehunt 04-15-05 04:41 PM

watching it now
is that Balky(spelling?)?

edit: I suppose it could be taken that way. I know that at least rectally you will absorb stuff, which is why some drugs come as supositories. And the ME's statement about a guy she examined a week earlier dying from a sherry (the wine) enema was ripped from the news a few weeks back (I think there's a thread in either otter or mature about it)

edit edit: Matty (the quiz guy): if you're a know it all that always has to be right this isn't for you.
 that's Pyle all the way, which is still why I want an R Lee Ermey cameo.
"Damn it Pyle, you think you're so ******* smart, well drop and give me 50 maggot!"

mikehunt 05-09-05 04:58 PM

Law & Order Criminal Intent 5/1

didn't see a thread from last week
Darrell Hammond is in it with a serious role
cool seeing him branch out from SNL

Watching is now.
going after the website guy is stupid
providing information is not illegal, or even morally wrong
and even if NY law says helping a suicide is manslaughter(I'm going to check right now) it's stupid to actually go after the website guy for it.

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/nycodes/c82/a28.html

S 125.15 Manslaughter in the second degree.
A person is guilty of manslaughter in the second degree when:
1. He recklessly causes the death of another person; or
2. He commits upon a female an abortional act which causes her death,
unless such abortional act is justifiable pursuant to subdivision three
of section 125.05; or
3. He intentionally causes or aids another person to commit suicide.
Manslaughter in the second degree is a class C felony.

More awesome news....

Annabella Sciorra is joining the cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent next fall as Chris Noth's new partner, NBC confirms. Noth and Sciorra will alternate with CI's current stars, Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe, and each team will front 11 episodes apiece.

It will be pretty weird watching only half the episodes of a current series. How about a split DVD season set. ;)

LorenzoL 05-24-05 10:39 AM

Didn't she appeared in one episode of Trial By Jury?

Yeah, but remember that Jerry Orbach, S. Epatha Merkerson, Annie Parisse, Diane Neal, and Ice-T showed up in guest spots before they all became regulars (as different characters) on the various shows.

Yes - the pilot episode - as defense attorney, where she did a great job.

I CALL THE HALF WITH NOTH!

mikehunt 05-24-05 02:23 PM
