That's my one (and only) regret in not being a criminal defense lawyer. Once, just once, I want to blurt that phrase out while slamming my briefcase shut. ;) |
I recently read an article with Dick Wolf saying the rumors that V.D. was leaving are just that....rumors. He isnt going anywhere.

replacing D'Onofrio would ruin the show. The whole point of the show is the wacky detective who can find answers and meanings to wacky crimes. Noth would in no way be able to bring that to the show. As said previously, the show would end up being a basic Law & Order and hardly worth watching.

While I can understand people not wanting to watch CI because of D'O, it seems like without the lead (and the style of the show), there would be no point. If they wanted to get rid of him, they'd have to change the series to the point where L&O:CI would become just another show, baggaged by fans arguing which was better.
The point of CI is that there is this modern day Sherlock Holmes character running around in NY. If it is the case that they DID want to get rid of D'O, why not just close down L&O: CI and start up a new franchise? L&O is the "trademark" if you will, and any new "non D'Onofrio" show will do well by itself with 100% of the L&O fans watching rather than a subset of them. It also won't be critized by the D'O fans for selling out the basic premise of CI. |
CI does have one other difference from the other L&Os: most eps show you who the murderer is right from the 'cold open'......

But I agree, without Vincent CI just isn't CI. This show is about him, and without him I'm not really sure what it'll be. |
Logan is the man. Glad to have him back. Has his character been a cop the whole time?

Add me to the list of liking CI because of D'Onofrio. It's like he's an idiot sevant, or autistic, or something. It makes the show different than the others.

I like Vincent. I don't recall him "screaming" all the time. He is usually just really sarcastic with them and when they piss him off he goes all out. But he doesn't do that all the time as some are saying.
I do agree that the rest of the cast are horrible. Hopefully they are getting paid scale, cause they don't do shit. |
L&O: Criminal Intent -- "Stress Position" [the Return Of Mike Logan] -- 02.13.2005
Stress Position Spoiler:
Personally, I think this whole "split the season" thing'll be a bad idea. |
Dasm it, this is opposite Desperate Housewives.
What to Tivo, what to Tivo.....? |

 Thanks for the reminder. |

I so wanted logan to take that guy apart. he probably could have
either that or I expected him to have smuggled in a backup revolver in an ankle hoslter |

that was a great episode.
The way Goran picked apart those guys at the end was fantastic. |

[megaphone]"OK, Goren, we know you're in there. Put down the thesaurus, and come out with your hands up."[/megaphone] |
It was a decent episode but I could have done without the heavy handed bleeding heart liberal message.
Oh gawd no, we can't have a person detained in this country based on some sort of profiling. Maybe Goren and Logan shoulda glanced out a window while driving around NYC. There's two tall buildings that ain't there no more. |
I stopped watching the original L&O when he and Hennesey left. I had never seen this incarnation but tuned in to see how he came back. I'm always a sucker on seeing how they explain characters out of shows an into shows.
Pretty good episode. Why dont like people like D'Onofrio ? Ive always found him very intense in whatever he does. So you think we'll get to see him interact with any of his original cast mates or are all of them gone? |
