Well, I tuned in last night to see if D'Onofrio and his partner would be present, but they were not included at all in the credits. I guess this means they're off the show for good?

Deftones 10-03-05 05:15 PM

No. They aren't. They are going back and forth. I haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm sure they have a new credit sequence for Noth and Sciora since they are now stars too. That way we get different one every week. Pretty cool idea, actually.

They were on the first episode of the season. I think it is going to be every other week.

Legolas 10-03-05 05:39 PM

Although D'Onofrio is happy with half the workload, Erbe can't be too happy about half the paycheck.

Supermallet 10-03-05 05:47 PM

Yes, they're splitting it so that D'Onofrio gets the odd numbered episodes and Noth gets the even numbered episodes. I like the split, because I always liked Logan, and Sciorra's character is also excellent.

I doubt they just outright cut their checks in half. They were under contract, so they must've made some kind of deal.

Buttmunker 10-04-05 08:04 AM

So they'll really have it where, on the week it is D'Onofrio's show, he will be in the credits but not Noth, and when Noth's week comes up, it is a completely different set of credits to include only Noth and his partner?!

Do they ever run into one another, Noth & D'Onofrio? I reckon not - not unless they did a two-hour special or something. A MOVIE?! Now we're talkin'.

They did last season when Chris Noth guest-starred as Detective Logan for 1 episode.

Law & Order CI -- "In the Wee Small Hours, Part I & II" -- 11.06.2005

In the Wee Small Hours, Part I & II

Spoiler:
In a two-hour movie featuring both sets of the series' detectives for the first time -- a visiting Iowa teen disappears during her New York City school trip, prompting a massive media frenzy that engulfs Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio), Eames (Kathryn Erbe), Logan (Chris Noth) and Barek (Annabella Sciorra) when their prime suspect Ethan, guest star Matt O'Leary, is a powerful judge's son. The case widens when it appears the accused's philandering father Harold, guest star Colm Meaney, is a co-conspirator who acted to protect his son -- and might be a murder suspect himself -- but he is not afraid to punch back hard against the investigators. Jamey Sheridan, Courtney B. Vance and Fred Dalton Thompson ("Law & Order") also star.

Decided to do it this way since the individual show threads [if created at all], don't seem to generate that much discussion to warrant individual threads. Right, Jadzia? If i'm wrong, we can do individual ones. I'm easy. [Just don't let my girlfriend find that out...]

movieking 11-06-05 07:22 AM

I would much rather individual ones. I don't think most people watch all three series (ratings would indicate this) and discussing three episodes of a different show with different characters would be too confusing, especially for those of us who take a few days to get around to watching some of the episodes.

Goldberg74 11-06-05 08:53 AM

Hmmm... a two-hour L&O:CI movie or Category 7... that's a tough call.

;)

My vote is for separate ones. I'm not a fan of CI and I think that having all three shows in one thread (unless its a crossover) is a little <strike>munch</strike> much.

me too
although I do watch all three I don't always watch them in order or even in the same week they aired
I'd hate to come in to discuss one that I did watch and get spoiled on another

Jadzia 11-06-05 12:49 PM

Thread title changed upon request of the OP.

Jadow 11-06-05 08:29 PM

Chief O'Brien is in it!

wow. I thoroughly enjoyed this "movie". Then again, i'm not a D'onofrio "hater".

Oh, and Anabella was looking particularly  tonight.

Legolas 11-07-05 06:29 PM

Have they ever acknowledged Goren's Rain Man/William Shatner methods before?

Yeah, they do it all the time. Capt. Deekens, for example, once commented upon watching Goron interact with a schitzophrenic, "Great, the Goren show's in town."

Put me down as a Goren fan. I love VD's portrayal and the strange little character traits he imbues in Goren. It very much fits with someone with the past he has.

And if you've ever known someone too intelligent for their own good, it rings true. I have an uncle who has a brain too big for his own good, and he speaks and interacts with people in a similar manner, almost as if his mind is moving too fast and with an intensity his body cannot accurately translate... to the intellectually average and normally-adjusted, it comes off a bit strange. Add to that his strangeness in the interrogation room that is a put on to knock the criminals off-balance and you've got a great modern take on Sherlock Holmes.

PS - I also very much enjoyed the friendly rivalry between Goren/Eems and Logan/Sciorra

RocShemp 11-07-05 11:00 PM

I really enjoyed this "movie" as well. One of the highlights for me were when Logan and Goren were practically bonding and Eames and Barek were just watching them in dumbfounded amazement.

Rogue588 11-08-05 12:32 AM

"Ocean's Two"

I adored that line.

You know, I wish the show was just like this movie (albeit scaled down). The whole Eames/Goren one episode and Barek/Logan the next thing really doesn't work for me. These characters all work their best together and given that it used to work on SVU (before it became the Stabler Show), I don't see why that's not how they do it here.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- "DRAMMA GIOCOSO" -- 4/09/06

Cast: Chris Noth, Annabella Sciorra, Jamey Sheridan, Courtney B. Vance, Julian Sands, Alice Krige

---------

Personally, I don't like it when these two detectives are on. I might turn it on for background noise while working on my computer... I hope they don't continue with this format next season as I like the Goren/Eames match-up (I was fine with the 2-hour episode that featured all four of them, though).

TheMovieman 04-17-06 12:05 AM

Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- "VACANCY" -- 4/16/06

The detectives peel back the layers of the suspect's life and discover disturbing evidence, family history -- and his penchant for researching twisted subjects for future acting assignments.

Cast: Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, Jamey Sheridan, Courtney B. Vance; Desmond Harrington and Emily Bergl guest star.

------

Anyone watch? It was a decent episode, but pretty forgettable IMO.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent -- "TO THE BONE" -- 5/07/06

Guest starring: Whoopi Goldberg

----------

I don't care for these two detectives so I'll probably skip it... Does anyone prefer these two over Goren/Eames?

Red Dog 05-07-06 01:37 PM

I'm just the opposite. I only watch the Noth/Sciorra eps. I despise the Goren character.
