I think the only person powerful enough to KILL Sylar was Pa Patrelli. The heroes can stop him and imprison him, but I doubt any of them has what it takes to deliver a lethal blow. They could bring back Vortex man to wipe him out, but that would entail revealing just where things go in his vortex. Also if Vortex man could return, then that leaves the door open for Sylar to return down the road.
Crazy as it was, what ever happened to that rumor of Adam's return?

Good news about the next season, but I also think that Kring should start planning/plotting the end of the show. Five seasons should be all it runs. Since the numbers were iffy anyway, NBC might bite for the fifth just to get the "wrap up" finale season ratings bump.

I don't think less episodes are a problem. It's hard to believe all that Pa Petrelli nonsense was this season. I like to think the season started with that new chapter with the Heroes being chained and loaded onto the airplane. So, in other words it's not a bad thing if there's less episodes it just has to be good.

I know that was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I didn't really see it. The only ability he's having problems with is the shapeshifting, which could be entirely mental or a side effect specific to that ability.

I have been a big fan of the series since the beginning, but I think if I had to some up my feelings about Seasons 2 on it would be inconsistent. I always have the feeling that characters are not acting "in character" as it were. Specifically Parkman and Mohinder.I think it works for HRG since he has been morally grey from the beginning. And Sylar has so many psychological issues that constant flip-flopping fits.
I wish that there was one constant overarching story or goal that linked the seasons. Even some of the episodes seem disjointed. Lately, there have been a few flashes of good to great TV though. I will definitely keep watching, but it has gone from Must See to I'll get around to it.

Here's what gets me about the bitchers and moaners... In the 1961 thread they were screaming bloody murder about Sylar shapeshifting to Nathan. Then they explain it in the first half of this episode and no one says anything. (And it's not like the flashback episode is new to this series either.)
I mean really, if you have to nitpick the show to death you aren't a fan...you're just a pain-in-the-ass armchair critic. For those that offer more than "this sucks" and "stupid show because of [insert small issue here], you are making a valuable contribution as a fan. Yes, this show isn't as great as the first season (which would have been impossible to top if they had not blown their fx budget on the penultimate episode instead of the finale.) However as others have pointed out, it's much better than a reality show entitled "Hillbilly finds a Pig" or Law and Order:Wall Street.

Could you point out specifically what you are referring to?
