add me to the list. I've been enduring Volume 4. last week with Mom in the desert finding her lost sister, Petrelli and Claire in Mexico having the "father/daughter" bonding over tequilla. too many WTF moments that aren't moving the story forward.

Totally agree, it's as if Ron Howard directed the episode and gave him an obligatory scene.

I think a problem with the show is how unrealistic the characters act.

In season 1, everyone was terrified of Sylar. Now, he's even more powerful and they all act like they can confront him. Especially, Denko and their team. At least Bennett and everyone respected their powers.

Speaking of, maybe the kid is not Parkman's.
Wasn't it in the first season? Matt knew she cheated on him but stuck in there because of the kid and then eventually read in her mind that the kid wasn't his?

I could be wrong, it's been a while since I watched season 1. But this would be a contradiction, unless she was simply assuming the kid wasn't his but was all along.

I find it odd that Sylar's clothes change when he shapeshifts. Didn't the original shapeshifter have a closet full of outfits?

If Sylar can turn his skin into clothing, I wonder what happens if he removes a garment.

He didn't "change clothes" when he was on the park bench changing into that security guy though.

I enjoyed the backstory, but they had two episodes left, and they scooped us the sylar shape shifting last week. If they would have saved that for this week, at least we would have gotten a surprise.

And ditto on the wtf with matt and the mother of his child. one moment he is destined to be with Daphne, now he is all gung ho to be with the mother of his children.

I thought the return of that writer guy was supposed to save this show? I think it's gotten worse, and I was one of the folks defending this show when most of you were pissing in these threads each week.

Well the past two episodes have been major duds, and no doubt we'll find their "importance" in the finale.

I came into Heroes watching that long SCI-Fi marathon for season 1 and really enjoyed it but with the crap of these past 4 volumes, it can't be that show anymore.

So did the place in the back of Sylar's head that can keep him dead no longer there due to all the shifts he has made?

Re: Heroes -- "I am Sylar" -- Vol. 4: Fugitives -- 4/20/09

How to fix 'Heroes':

1. KILL OFF HIRO, ANDO AND PARKMAN. I don't care how the fuck you do it. It doesn't even need to make sense... have a fucking asteroid land on their heads, out of nowhere for all I care... this show comes to a fucking GRINDING halt whenever this trio is on the screen.

2. MORE CHEERLEADER FUCKING HERSELF UP. In the first season we saw her breaking her neck, getting into car wrecks, blowing up, jumping off cranes... this season we see her drinking shots (ZOMG liver damage repair!), sulking, and sitting at diner tables chatting it up with her daddy.

3. MORE FIGHTS. Seriously now... the best moment in 'Heroes' history was the brief hallway fight between Sylar and Peter way back in S1. It alluded to a grand fucking finale they never ever came... I'm still waiting... but not for much longer.

Regarding the above, aside from the killing (I do not want anyone to die) they do not a big fight, I wonder if they can manage to have Peter and Sylar have a real fight this time once Peter either gets all of Sylars powers or stops being as weak as one. Sylar needs to end, I have been okay with it so far, it is time to for him to be over.

I've got an idea for their deaths. Parkman becomes a pilot and has both Ando & Hiro on his flight from Sydney to LA. Hiro decides to stop time because he thinks he's a fucking hero, only he forgets that someone needs to fly the plane. Ando gets beheaded by Hiro's sword which somehow made it into their carry-on luggage. Hiro is thrown from the plane when it breaks in two, but manages to stay alive when he lands in the ocean. A shark eats his eyelids, so he can't do his super-blink to transport and ultimately drowns. Matt crashes on an island and is knocked unconscious. When he wakes up he realizes he is still in the cockpit which is stuck in tree. Minutes later he is eaten by some sort of smoke monster. The end...and the beginning.

This.

I can't see myself bothering next year.

I'm too weak, I'll probably watch.

Baby Parkman seemed to have partially "recharged" his powers (since he can't really time travel anymore). But it appears now that that re-charge has depleted. Which makes more sense that the baby can really "fix" a hero.

How so? We now know that a) Sylar's collective abilities are weakening as he collects more and more - like his glass is overflowing and he loses some control or strength of the power (or he's getting too genetically scrambled) and b) Micah has at least planted the seed in his head that he could be a hero instead of a villain. That Sylar could be so radically shifted in his "purpose" was the whole point. Last weekend we thought he was cooperating with Denko while impersonating Nathan. Now we know he could be aiming to help.

That's what I supposed Micah thought too.

Except he now knows she named the baby after him AND the baby also has powers. So that gives Matt Sr. two pretty strong reasons to believe the baby IS his even though she'd original believed it wasn't when he read her mind. All of this info would definitely change Matt's feeling about wife and family enough to forget Daphne who never really showed too much interest in moving forward with him when she died anyway.

Overall, I enjoyed it (especially the brief return of Ellen Greene as Sylar Mom). I'm sorry most of you here didn't seem to, but I will certainly also enjoy more manageable threads that actually discuss the show next season when all the "haters" have dropped it as they're threatening.

[ASIDE ABOUT TV TALK]I like this forum because I want to discuss shows. When something turns into a "this sucks" and "I'm gone" thread, it really turns me off. If you're gone then go. I believe that most people who read these threads want to discuss the show not to hear how much you hate it. If you want to argue someone's point or theory, that's cool, but anything else that doesn't really contribute to discussion is just egotistic and pointless. I really avoided the S2 threads because I had to wade through so much "this sucks" posting that I couldn't find the ones that were trying to discuss the show. And THAT really DOES suck.[/ASIDE ABOUT TV TALK]

This really bothered me with the Fringe episodes earlier this season. The Heroes threads it doesn't really bother me just because I can see why people are so upset about investing so much time into the show and then being let down time and time again.

You basically have two things that advanced the story in 45 minutes. First, Sylar's weakening abilities didn't need a whole episode. Second, Micah planting a "hero" seed in Sylar is just a recycled plot. Sylar was good in Season 2, then he was bad, just kidding, he's good again, no really he's evil. Nevermind, let's set Season 2 aside, he's now bad in Season 3, or wait, Rebel wants him to be good. What will his tortured soul end up deciding next week? He's become as big of a joke as Hiro, only his idiocy is masked by the cool factor of his abilities.

So yeah, the entire episode was pretty useless in the scope of things.
