I took it as in Farraday was 'coo-coo'
Kris Kristofferson in Blade
I may be late in this thinking, but tonight I had a thought that past and present are coexisting. In the present when they hear the whispers, I'm thinking they are hearing what is going on in the past.Little too much Stephen King - Langoliers ?
All the pictures I saw made it look like Locke was in a bad wig.

I'm still wondering why the island "Needs" the Losties but now I can think it is clear it is to course correct wrong doings of the past. I think the Losties were brought to the island by fate and the happenings (time travel, etc.) all came about in order prevent the events that led Dharma from being purged by Ben. This is just my wild guess but so far this season I haven't seen any other proof that the island needs any of them. And are Rose and Bernard having some sweet jungle loving going on? Where in the hell have they been this whole time? What are their jobs with Dharma?

Another episode and no Rose and Bernard. I know we'll see them again but I fear they are destined to be Adam and Eve. The last time we saw them was during the beach raid. From there you have to question where they would go on the island. There are only three possible places that I believe they'd go to that they were familiar with.
1.) The Flame (Bernard in S2)- unlikely because it is on the other side of the island from the losties beach anyway.
2.) The Swan (Rose in S2) - 'Whenever' they got there it was probably not built yet, occupied by Dharma/Desmond, or destroyed.
3.) The Caves (Rose in S1) - This is the most likely place they would have gone for shelter, or to possibly regroup with the others.
I don't think the black and white stones Jack collected off Adam and Eve had anything to do with the discussion Locke had with Walt during season 1. I think the stones were simply a hint that one of them was black, and one was white.

I didn't interpret Sawyer owning Jack. I saw it as Jack biding his time, waiting for Sawyer to fuck up, which inevitably will happen.
I also thought they were gonna do some Frequency type stuff, where someone in the 77 would talk with someone in 08.

I think Faraday did leave the island somehow, since I believe he was the one to start the major research on the island with his mother, developing formulas and the like.

I think faraday is still on the island. he has to be, otherwise he wouldn't be still on the show. I took what sawyer said as that faraday is a little crazy right now. not all there. why were the barracks in normal time period abandoned when sun and frank showed up?
wouldn't richard and the others use them. jack just seems content until something challenging comes up which will be next week. imo, sawyer having sayid tied up to be killed is just a plan to allow sayid to escape and rejoin them later. it also seems like sawyer and juliet are happy in '77, doesn't seem like they are in "holy hell, let's get back to 2007" mode. I think the "incident" is when they will all get transported back to 2007. probably be the season finale.

Yes, the plane landed on the runway that Sawyer and Kate worked on during their time at Hydra Station.
Loved seeing Marvin Candel checking Jack in at the center. Last night was just awesome.

Could it be that Ben, Sun and Locke are still in 2007 since they cannot exist twice on the island in the same time period? Young Ben is already on the island in 77, Sun could be the baby we saw in the season premiere and Locke well he's an anomaly.
Also I got the feeling from last night's episode that young 77 Ben is already in contact with the hostiles and was asking Sayid his name to relay that info back to Richard. Heck maybe young Ben already knew Sayid was not a hostile since he knows them.

Maybe I am missing something obvious. But how does Ben in 2004 know they need to build a landing strip for the Ajira landing in 2007?

I'm not sure why people are still positing the "Christian == Jacob" theory when Christian has explicitly stated that he's not Jacob.
By the way, my theory is that (speculation only):
