So, do we think Faraday moved the wheel between 1974 and 1977 during The Orchid construction we saw in the season premiere?

Nice FU from Sawyer to Jack that he doesn't think and no longer in charge of things. I wonder if the workman title for Jack was Sawyer's idea.

Interesting to see how they are going to get the 815 back within the time period. Maybe when the incident happen?

I have no doubt. Jack's "aptitude tests" had to come from somewhere ;)

Sawyer has been the MVP of this season, so far.

I'm so lost... Did Sun, Ben and Frank end up in 1977 like Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid when the plane crashed or did they remain in 2007? Did they end up in 1977, but when Sun and Frank went to the other island they crossed back into 2007? Did Ben know this? Is this why he wanted to go to the 2nd island?

Anyone else hear the normal flashback/forward sound effect when the scene switched from Jin to Sun? I guess this was a clue they weren't in the same time period.

The Ajira survivors said they saw animal cages and buildings. These go back to Season 3 when Sawyer and Kate were locked up, right? And these cages weren't on the same island as the Oceanic survivors' camp, right? Am I remembering correctly?

I agree: this season has been frickin' awesome.

Sounds like you've got it all right, Joe. But Sun and Frank have not yet been in 1977, but according to Christian they have a long journey ahead of them.

Exactly. That's why, when Christian showed them the picture form 1977, he informed Sun that she had a long journey ahead of her.

I figured Hurley and Jack ended up with the jobs for the people who wouldn't take the sedative, which is why Jack was being processed even before Kate got added by way of Juliet's "updated" roster. I imagine Sawyer did choose Jack to be the janitor versus Hurley, though. :)

Yes, Sawyer's scene about thinking owned. He's the man.

ETA: We know the plane (and therefore Sun, Lapidus, and Ben) are in 2007 because there is a runway. There wasn't one before last season's events.

A little surprising that Faraday is said to be gone. I guess he had his conversation with lil' Charlotte then took off on the next Sub. I guess he doesn't mind living his life from the '70's on. Since he never left the island with the others, he wasn't needed to come back.

Faraday never would've risked turning the wheel, knowing what it did to Charlotte, especially since there was another way of getting off the island.

i'm surprised nobody brought up Ethan being born in 1977. That would make him 27 when we first saw him? I dont think so.

It would also make him dead, if he were on the island.

Yeah. Obviously something is up here. Hopefully we will see (and I expect we will) see further explanation in the episodes to come.

No. Remember, Juliet feared the baby and mother would die but there were no problems. It was thought by Sawyer that whatever caused it hadn't happened yet (probably the incident) by 1974.

No, I mean from what Ben unleashed that killed all of Dharma's people on the island, apparently circa 1980s.

He's the man not for being a great thinker but for telling Jack off in a way that left him speechless.

Oh, well Ben and the Others had gas masks on and the purge happened in 1992 when Ethan would've been 15 and probably already part of the science team by then. He wouldn't have been Dharma.

Pride comes before the fall. Let's see how cocksure he is when he actually has to deal with an unknown. Jack seemed to be pretty okay without having to deal with the BS anymore. He's seems to have enough on his plate already with his father running around saying hi to everyone but him.

I know Jack and Sawyer have had more than their fair share of battles, but I really thought Jack seemed perfectly fine and at ease, almost, with Sawyer wanting to take the lead and telling Jack to go and relax.

It felt like Sawyer was wanting to make Jack feel a bit like he had in the past (although Sawyer's early behavior on the island certainly didn't make him ever have a right to question why no one, including Jack, wanted him in charge) as second fiddle, but the way the scene played out, I thought Jack didn't take offense at all at Sawyers scolding and happy to NOT be the one with all the weight on his shoulders.

That's the way I saw the scene, at least.

Re: Lost -- "Namaste" -- 03/18/09

Tonight was the first time in along time that we saw Sawyer return to his normal self, even or a few short seconds. He probably did so because he obviously has no idea what to do about the Sayid situation and didn't want Jack telling him what to do anymore after everything he did for the survivors after the 06 left.

OTOH, Jack didn't get angry at all which was something strange. I think he's starting to believe in everything Locke has told him and he seems more peaceful being back on the island. Maybe he's more interested in finding out about his father instead of being the leader. Remember man of science vs man of faith. Jack is probably going nuts trying to figure out how they could have possibly went back in time.
