It was just an okay episode.
I absolutely hate what they have done with Syler. I don't know what the hell they are doing with him and Elle. Now they are flirting and he's become Mr. Sensitive after they wanted to kill each other?
The only part of the episode that I found humorous and enjoyed was Hiro, Ando and Parkman's exploits.
The Heroes writers need to stop writing every episode as some huge "event." It's okay to take a step back and focus more on characters and plot and do something on a smaller scale.
Does anyone think Hayden looks like she is wearing a wig or hair extensions? Her hair use to look so much more natural, but now it looks really fake. I recall in the premiere clip show her her was cut shoulder length.

It's funny, but the posts from the people that find the faults in the show are far more detailed and insightful than the posts from people that like it. I mean, if this was a thread just full of people that loved this show, it'd be tiny and there'd be no conversation. I have yet to see anyone say what they actually like about the direction the show is going, at least in this week's thread.
That said, I did like this episode more than the last two. There did seem to be an actual flow to the story for once, at least for me... I think it was Arthur's drawings tying everything in together. Plus I like that HRG finally addressed Claire's idiotic rantings about being able to defend herself... though swinging a baseball bat against people with powers wouldn't seem to be much of an offense, I guess it's a start.
The big gaps in logic still remain. HRG takes Claire to a house that they've been to in the past because it's easier to guard... however, they get taken by surprise anyway, and were saved only because of the eclipse taking away powers. Some plan. Luckily, Sylar knows how nonsensical HRG's plans usually are, and is able to determine where they'll hide. I would've thought she'd just hole up in the company HQ, but that seems to have an open door policy... still, you'd think off-the-grid would mean somewhere totally new. Then HRG brings her back to the house, because hey, it's not like Sylar knows where they live or anything.
The speedster subplot you could see coming from a mile away.
Won't get into the whole logic surrounding the eclipse, since that's been done to death. I just hope they don't drop this "Claire is the catalyst" thing, since now it seems like the eclipse is the catalyst? I just want them to follow up with the dangling subplots... Ando being killed, Peter needing Sylar's powers for something important, etc.
You'd think Arthur would know that sending Sylar and Elle to bring back Claire might, you know, actually cause the scene he drew (the one with Claire being injured).
I don't mind the Haitian subplot so much... it gives the Petrelli bros. some much needed interaction. And they actually referenced some important stuff from the past (Peter always being saved by his brother, Nathan always being manipulated by his father).

I've really enjoyed this a lot more since they introduced Arthur. He's one of the few characters I can remember that actually acts pretty logically, evil or not. When he's stuck, he just sits there drawing pictures and trying to figure shit out. When he needs something, he takes it just because he can.
It at least adds some connecting force to the process that was lacking when there were just heroes and villains wandering through time trying to save the world. They also seem to have cut down on the time traveling the last few episodes, which is most appreciated.

I believe the reason for this is those who still enjoy Heroes are simply enjoying the ride rather than picking apart a show they're generally ok with. So why bother typing out lengthy in detail pro-posts when there's really no need to do so? The ones who don't like the show, or at least claim to but still watch every week, won't change their minds after reading the pro posts. They have every right to feel that they've been let down by the direction of the show. And the Pros have every right to feel that they're ok with the direction of the show. Frankly, it's to a point in these Weekly threads where the pro people are getting run off by the ones who come in every week with -nothing but negative posts-.
All that said, not one "pro-heroes" poster has ever said this show was anywhere near perfect....not one. I have lots of issues with this show, but I still like it and it's entertaining enough that I still watch.

Just to clarify the "Claire as catalyst" thing.
Is it that she's the catalyst for natural powers, or the catalyst that is needed in conjunction with the formula to give powers to those without?

If they haven't figured the formula out, how did they give Ali Larter's characters her power like that doctor said?

And Nathan. They had the formula and knew that it was dangerous to just give anyone powers. So they broke the formula up into three pieces. The one that Hiro's dad had, the one that Angela had, and then Claire is the catalyst that brings gets it to work. Whether that means her blood or something else, I dunno. That's how I interpret it.
