I'm back on board!

After a disappointing start, it's finding its way....great ep last night and looking forward to the rest of the season.

I like the show enough to watch it, but if I miss an episode, I wouldn't go out of my way to try and watch it.

? All of the Fox (And NBC for that matter) shows are on Hulu the morning after they air. With all the new shows this season, I'm watching half of them at work!

Much better episode. Glad I stuck with it. I nearly gave up after the first episode.

Guess I'm in the minority but I thought this was easily the worst of the 3 aired so far. I didn't even make it through. It was just mind-numbingly boring.
I'm out

I thought the episode was better than the previous two. I'll keep watching.

liked it. it's growing on me. while i agree the characters are somewhat weak along with the acting, the plot is pretty interesting.

Another enjoyable episode, and in a trend that I like the show keeps getting better as each episode passes. The chemistry is there, the stories are there, this is fast becoming must see TV for me.

I was wondering the same thing Deftones. Why in this day and age do people judge and give up on a show after one or two episodes. Shows like this are known to take a while to hit their groove.
I think it's a damn good show and I enjoy it.

Honestly I can't wait till they go. This and the weekly Heroes threads are the worst. No one seems to like the shows and are all only going to give them "x" more weeks to improve.

No, they make you wait a week for House.

I agree that the show is improving and holding my attention.

To those that are annoyed with the freak-of-the-week episodes, I'd reference you to Smallville. It has attempted - and to an arguable degree - successfully deviated from that after the first season or two. The show needed to establish itself and its rules. Also, reference both Lost and Alias - JJ shows - that certainly deviated unexpectely through their course.

Just be patient and see where the show takes you!

There are so many people here who come into watching new shows with such a shitty attitude. It seems like 80-90% of the people here want to find a reason to hate this show and see it fail.

Does that woman that works for Massive Dynamics remind anyone else of Maude Lebowski (Julianne Moore)?

I think Walter is the best part of the show so far!

enjoyed the episode, I think each week it has gotten better, some good plot twists with this massive dynamic chick.

Still prefer Terminator but I will defently be watching next week.

To what "plot twist" are you referring?

I think I might have mentioned this before..but it took x-files 4-5 episodes for me to even buy in a decent amount. I don't think I was 'all in' until mid way through the first season.

Sure, everything that happens in fringe has all been done before, sure its a x-files clone.

But so what? Its better than most on tv right now, and my tv roster is kind of bare at this point. I usually end up keeping 1-2 new shows per year. It looks like Fringe is at least one.

Somebody shoot that black girl. I haven't heard such airhead dialog since Jackie Malouf on Bobby Flay's show.

because there is almost an unlimited amount of entertainment on TV and DVD now, all competing for an average viewers very limited time. Network ads and pre-show hype hook a person enough to tune in and then the show is not what they expect.

the reason people keep "hanging in there" for show like Heroes etc is much the same reason sport fans still watch crappy teams or lame match ups. Fans hope to see some sparks again..

plus all the networks care about is if people watch. The shows that gets thread posts on here with lots of views, lots of posts ranting or raving pros/cons have a chance. They have people watching at least. The really doomed shows are ones that get like less then 100views, almost no posts in their threads, being no one cared one way or the other about it..

Even though we all have different opinions and I get frustrated seeing people bash shows without giving it a fair shot, I do have to agree with your standpoint.

People have really short attention spans nowadays and there is simply not enough time in the day to watch a shitload of TV, work, go out etc. And your right, there is way too much entertainment medium out there that one TV show is easily expendable to alot of people, especially in this forum.

So was the guy seeing into the future, or seeing the events as the occured? At the beginning it seemed to me he was seeing the future. I thought her boss confirmed this when he was talking about the drawings/models. Then it seemed at the end like it was real-time for the sake of the plot. ??

I don't think its a bad show. I just don't think its that good. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it when I put it on last night but I got half way through, stopped it and deleted the episode off the DVR and ended my season pass.

There are definitely some cool moments on the show. The beginning of the first three episodes are incredibly intense and just plain awesome. Maybe some of them are a little cliche (the guy being able to draw the future has been done a thousand times) but that doesn't bother me because the way its shot is an excellent start to every episode.

Then every episode just falls apart. The biggest issue I have is that I just don't care. I don't care about the main characters. Joshua Jackson and Lt. Daniels are the only good characters and they're barely used. I don't care about the overall story and the whole Massive Dynamic angle seems forced. I don't care about "The Pattern" and I don't care about Olivia's boyfriend whose relationship I didn't care about to begin with. Maybe its the acting, maybe its the writing but whatever it is, it just doesn't work for me.

I feel the exact opposite way. While I agree that it takes a show a few eps to pick up steam I also feel that this day and age is the best time to try something out and quickly drop it if it doesn't grab your attention.

This is because the beauty of TV shows on DVD and TV shows easily accessible legally on the internet. If the show does indeed pick up steam and gains an audience I can easily start from the beginning and catch up. Which is why I'm not DONE with Fringe. If it gets better and I start hearing good word of mouth I'll catch up with the eps I missed and jump back in. I did something similar with Heroes. I watched the first two eps, didn't like it too much. Started hearing good reviews and tried it again.. and I'm glad I did.

I don't really feel like writing a long drawn out discussion about it, but seriously watch the first couple of episodes of the X-Files or any other show from the 90s, and you'll see the first couple of episodes are pretty much awful.

Definitely not the case with the X Files. The first three episodes, "Pilot", "Deep Throat", and "Squeeze", were classics. There were some pretty bad episodes later in the season, though.

Neither. He was receiving CONVERSATIONS, like a radio - however originally they were being sent to the VISUAL part of his brain... so he received messages about the incidents while THE TERRORISTS WERE PLANNING THEM, but they were visually transmitted... They talked about doing that shit on the bus, he interpreted it visually and drew the bus - then later they carried out their plan. In the ep they switched his receiver from visual to audio, so they could HEAR what was being planned.

So the drawings were his interpretations of the yet to occurr events? I guess the confusing part was when we were shown flashes and they were the same as what was shown when the event actually did happen. Plus, if he's intercepting these hidden messages, why would he receive open conversations over a cell phone? Wouldn't he get everybodys cell conversations?
