Some help here - I'm convinced I've heard that version of Eleanor Rigby before. After last week's theft of Incubus, I'm on high alert with David Cook.

My bottom 3 is Syesha, Rumielle and KLC with KLC going home. She is robotic.

Besides the "oopsie i forgot the words" moments, Archuleta sounded winded during most of the whole performance. And wtf is up with him licking his lips after every line? Even on the ballads in previous weeks, I notice him doing that. Chapstick works wonders, buddy.

I like David Cook, but he brings nothing new for me. He's getting the same overpraise Daughtry got for doing rock/emo covers of pop and r&b songs. I know I've heard Interpol or some other band cover "Eleanor Rigby" just like that. But just like Growlermeyer...he's got a style and he's sticking to it.

I don't hate on Hernandez for his stripper past, but that was a dull karaoke-esque performance. He tried, but it bordered on lounge cheesy. He's got a smooth, strong voice, but to sell that song you need some grit. It needs to be a little "down and dirty" and raw-sounding, which is why his clean, peppy version tanked for me. Tiffany at 15 had more raw grit in her version, no kidding.

I’m not a fan of David Archuleta by any means, way too soft of a voice, but there is no chance that he is going home this week. Or next week, for that matter. I don’t care if he comes out and says “I can’t sing this week", he will not be voted off. I am not convinced that he will win it all, but he’ll make it to the final four easy and probably the final two.

For the bottom three, I see Syesha, Malubay, and KLC with Malubay going home. Or I could do the normal Dialidol prediction and say that David Archuleta is safe and one of the remaining eleven singers will go home. Oddly enough, Dialidol has been 100% accurate so far this year!

I say Amanda is gone. KLC has a country fan base.

Another bad performance by Archuleta will put him at risk, and he may be outclassed by the others on the stage going forward. It will be interesting to see if he can rebound or if he'll come apart.

I couldn't believe the praise that was put on Carly again. Simon compares her to Kelly Clarkson (?), but then doesn't remember her name 15 minutes later? Kelly Clarkson in Season 1 could sing sing sing, I haven't seen the same from Carly, same power perhaps, but not the same quality.

My pick going home tonight is either KLC or Hernandez, who were both terrible/unlistenable last night. Syesha was also forgettable with the bland mid-70s pop arrangement.

I voted before the show for Amanda to go home, and when she said in her video segment that she chose a Beatles song she'd never heard before, I knew for sure that she was going to be terrible, but amazingly she pulled through with a performance good enough to get by another week.

Anyone heard Godhead's cover of "E. Rigby"? A little harder than Cook's version but I really liked it back in the day.

I am not surprised that people thought that a Beatles night may have been over the heads of some of these contestants. But I love that they did it. And I love that they exposed some of these contestants weaknesses and also elevated others.

I actually thought last night was better than the 60s, 70s or 80s nights. I liked more performances last night than any other night.

My favorite was Brooke White. Not only for the performance but for her reaction. She performed on that stage and before she even finished I think she sort of got lost in the moment with it. Like all of a sudden she realized she was singing the Beatles on a $25k piano in front of millions of people, and as a musician, what can really top that? She actually had trouble finishing the song she was so moved. I just loved the honesty of it, but I am a big sap like that.

Syesha was ok. Good vocal but fairly dull performance. Tough to put out a performance like that and go first....you will just be forgettable come voting time.

Chikeze brought it tonight. It was a performance that made you want to root for him. No major change to the song/melody but enough to spin it for the crowd. And the best part to me was he didnt spin it to move it towards his Luther Vandross style. He showed the crowd a little something different than they expect of Chikeze.

Rumielle took one of my favorite Beatles songs (I danced with mom at my wedding to it) and put me to sleep with it. Her vocal was spot on, her voice sounded beautiful but zzzzzz).

Not much to say about Carly. She is good and I liked her tonight. Maybe it wasn't perfect but it was the type of performance that if I went to go see a concert at the Garden by a recording artist who decided to cover that song I would have been psyched to hear it.

David Cook was great if this was Idol Season 1 and may have had a little bit of relevance back then. I was huge on the Daughtry bandwagon and I am not on the Cook one. His Soul Asylum vibe aint doing it for me.

Michael Hutchence, er, Johns was the better rocker to me tonight. He took a very difficult song and nailed it. He made a difficult song seem like a safe one which says a lot to me.

Amanda, I am not a fan, but you did good tonight. See you next week.

David Hernandez - I have been a big fan since the auditions but it was terrible.

Jason Castro - Another guy I have liked since Hollywood but tonight was just ok for me.

Kristy Lee's performance may have been one of the most laughable performances in Idol history. It was horrid and un-listenable. Shame on whoever allowed her to go out there and perform that. Bye bye now.

David Archuletta. LOL. He is human. Awesome. But he should have been ripped apart for that performance. He forgot the words 3 times and could never get in a groove. Even at 17 he is a seasoned performer, Not acceptable. The almighty staircase takes another victim. No way this guy is winning this contest. Maybe he should have saved Imagine for this week?

so...

Great:
Brooke White
Michael Johns

Very good:
Carley
Chikeze

Decent:
David Cook
Jason Castro
Syesha
Rumielle
Amanda

Bottom of the barrell:
David H
David A

Going Home:
KLC

To me, there's a huge difference between Daughtry and Cook. Daughtry's voice fits with a modern sound, but he still brought the energy and fire of traditional rock. Cook represents more of a post-grunge detachment, a lot of standing still and staring off into the distance like he's too cool to care. There's some overlap between them, but I think they appeal to different audiences.

I think I'm in love with Brooke -- she's adorable. (In a totally non-creepy way of course.)

Is it just me or was Paula actually lucid last night?

And what the hell was Kristy Lee Cook thinking?! A hillbilly country version of a Beatles pop tune? Good lord what a train wreck.

That moron Archuletta forgot the lyrics, butchered another song, and doesn't like The Beatles. Forget AI elimination -- he should be eliminated from the planet.

David Cook really needs to hold a guitar when he's on stage because he looks uncomfortable without it (like Simon said in the Hollywood week auditions).

YES! My husband and I looked at each other and said that she actually made sense!

This bickering with Simon by Randy, Paula and Ryan has got to stop though. It's getting uncomfortable and distracting. Ryan especially. He sounds like an ass.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say KLC doesn't get eliminated...although I'm sure Ryan will milk the idea that she might be.

Not privy to any special info...just the history of AI never kicking off the worst performer - it's always the most forgetable performer (yes, there's a difference)...so I'm thinking Syesha or Rumielle packs their bags tonight.

I think it's still Chikezie that's going home because he's not going to generate a huge fanbase if he hasn't done so by now, even though he gave one of the better performances last night.

I'm guessing not, because I think he earned some respect from that performance, enough to have people pick up the phone and keep him.

We'll see!

Im still thinking it is gonna be KLC for her wacko performance but it could be Sayesha or Ramielle based on their "yawn" performances.

I thought (unelievabl) that Chikeze was easily the best tonight.

And worst (despite how awful Cook was) was EASILY Archuleta. His singing was terrible and he could not even remember the words. On pure singing he was the worst. I do not get the hype at all. In fact, he is incredibly creepy, like 6 year old beauty pageant creepy. He needs to go.

You guys don't know how happy I am to see all the dislike for Archuletta. I was beginning to think the whole world had gone insane.

I'm starting to think that once Cook finds out the artist of the week he heads over to YouTube and types in the artist's name, the word "cover", and picks the most "rockin" of the bunch. This guy is a tool IMO.

I think she forget to bring her pill bottle to the new set with her because she wasn't out of it like she normally is.

It's always amazed me how these contestants think it's a great idea to pick a song to sing even though they've never heard it until recently. Why take that chance? It almost *never* works out in their favor.

And why do they think it's a good idea to admit that they were never big fans of the music they're about to sing to the audience?

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I had to laugh that Archuleta said in his interview that he never really listened to the Beatles before, and a few minutes before Michael Johns said something like you can't really call yourself a musician if you weren't influenced by the Beatles...

Its only because Archuletta totally imploded, if he would have had a good performance, you would not have people jumping on him like they are now.

I wonder how many of them just get stuck with those songs. In the interview segments, three different people said something to the effect of, "My favorite song growing up was 'Yesterday'. My mother sang it to me as a child, and it really captures the essence of who I am as a performer. [Flash cut] I'll be singing [insert song that's not 'Yesterday']." Is it the group song tonight? Are there legal issues involved? I'm not suggesting many of these people don't make idiotic song choices, but reading between the lines, it's clear the Lennon/McCartney songbook wasn't as open as we were led to believe.

It would be interesting to show how the contestants get stuck with the songs, like they do on "Rock Star".

Are you serious? I think Chikezie easily bought himself at least a few more weeks based on that performance last night. I never really noticed him before, but I loved him and ended up throwing votes his way.

Even if he goes back to his forgettable self, I think he at least created some notice and made some new fans. It should propel him over many of the also-rans in the competition for at least a few more weeks.

I think Hernandez or Syesha will be gone, but it should be KKKristy.
