I think his voice does have a nice quality in this clip that might lend to the show well... so I guess we'll see.

I'm surprised that this is starting so soon, May 26th. But I'm also wondering why they are starting it on Memorial Day, which will already be a low viewership day.

I think that he is a pretty good choice actually. He doesn't appear to be a highly excitable guy, so I think that he'll do a good job of not overpowering the contestants for time.

Another late night start. Are they trying to kill the series before it even gets started?

Meet 'The Mole' and 11 Other Players
Resurrected ABC reality show premieres June 2
May 22, 2008

'The Mole' host Jon Kelley
They are scientists, doctors, machinists and models. And one of them is a saboteur.
ABC has revealed the identities of the 12 contestants on its resurrected reality show "The Mole," which returns to the air on June 2 after a four-year absence (it's been six years since the last non-celebrity version).
The series, hosted by Jon Kelley, will kick off in Chile, where contestants will have to jump over the edge of a waterfall, among other challenges. And, as in past incarnations, one of the 12 players is the Mole, secretly working to foil the plans of the other contestants. As with the previous editions, the player who knows the least about the Mole in each episode is eliminated, and the winner stands to pocket $500,000.
The 12 players range in age from 24 to 60 and include a neuroscientist, a restaurant manager, a retiree and a musician. Viewers will have to figure out for themselves just who the Mole is, however; ABC is promising a heavy online presence for the show so viewers can play along.

It bothers me that they've "simplified" this show so the audience can play along... I'd really prefer for the original format since it was essentially perfect.

I'll give it a try. IMHO, Mole is not a reality show, it's a game show. That's probably why I liked it originally, then immediately disliked it when it went to the lame "celebrity" edition.
As long as it doesn't pick up any of those ridiculous traits that reality shows have, like people acting outrageous just because they think it'll help them get a career in TV later on or (my real hatred about "reality" shows) fake conflict scripted by the shows writers / producers, I'll stick around.

I recorded the first season of The Mole marathon on Fox Reality TV this weekend. It's been great for the first couple of episodes. I remember who the Mole is, but I cannot remember who actually won the money. No need to tell me though.

*sigh* Just didn't feel the same as the first two seasons. I don't know if it was the host, change of original music, cast, editing or all of the above, but I thought it was ok at best. I just watched the second season for the first time about a month ago, and it was so fucking awesome. I watched the whole thing in two days. Cooper was an awesome host, loved seeing him just ride up on a bicycle, fucking with the contestants while they're struggling midchallenge.

Thought it was pretty dull. Not sure if I will keep watching. I think I will give it another episode to see if gets better.
The production seemed really cheap. Reminded me of that horrible reality show from a couple summers ago, Treasure Hunters or something?

Why are network show like this, Survivor, and Big Brother not in HD?
It seems strange that reality programs like Deadliest Catch and Alaska Experiment have stepped up to HD, but a major network still has a prime time show in SD.
This probably contributes to me not watching - and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Since last night was the first time I've seen the show, I have nothing to compare it to. It was okay and I'll most likely watch another couple of episodes to see if I can get into it more.
