I liked it--it was very creepy--but it did seem kind of pointless. Unless maybe they revisit this story later. Maybe the whole crossover problem with Rose's universe is what allowed the unidentified alien presence to be on this planet. Maybe somehow related to the 'extonic' rays? Eh, probably not.

Looking forward to seeing Rose again. Donna's grown on me over the season, but she's not as easy on the eyes as Rose or Martha. Especially Martha.

What a letdown after the Moffat two-parter.

The only appreciation I have for this episode comes from the Confidential showing how hard it was to match up the words of each actor.

Looking forward to next week. I guess we now see how the "Lite" plays out this year.

I didnt think Midnight was all that bad. The concept was pretty good and creepy at times. What lost me was how quickly it jumped into murderous (and annoying) hysterics. Yes, it is a bit too "real world logical," but in a group panic situation like that, when one person is calm and takes on leadership duties, people tend to fall in line with that very easily rather than rebel and freak the hell out so quickly.

Also, the nerd in me kept expecting giant cavemen to start chucking boulders and spears at the shuttle craft.

I hate Rose, so her return doesn't do much for me. Preview suggests that the Doc will be largely absent for the next ep, so iI'm curious to see how that plays out.

I thought the episode was great! So I'm surprised to see so many thought it wasn't only bad, but one of the worst episodes. Really surprised.

It was a nice stand alone, that could be revisited later (I had the same thought as cellar door did about how), since this did feel like an introduction to a new "big bad". As it stands, this worked for me like a nice and creepy stage play. The commentary being made about humanity (the disconnect we have with our cell phones, mp3 players, video games and etc as well as mob mentality and jumping to destroy things we don't understand) was a bit heavy handed, but I still was able to get into the drama.

Plus, the threat in this episode was probably the most effective this season since it was so understated and you really didn't know what this thing was or capable of. So you could imply your own ideas of what could happen if this thing kept going.

So yeah, I thought it was awesome. The only real negative I have about it is the "community theater" feel some of the actors this week gave me. Outside of the possessed woman, none of them stood out.

It just fell apart for me as the episode went along. And just when it got interesting, the out-of-nowhere FA decides to save the day!

Don't feel too bad if you enjoyed this one. Apparently the DVD Talk crowd is just hard to please. Most of the comments on the fan sites I've visited have been overwelmingly positive.

I thought it was a decent episode. It kept my attention. The passengers' attitudes were a nice counterpoint to the usual unquestioning attitude people have towards the Doctor.

That was the best part.

"I'm the Doctor!"
"So what?"
"I'm the clevrest one there is!"
"So you think you're better than us?"
"This new life is exciting, I want to know more!"
"Well we want to stay alive, and we're scared of this thing not interested in it,so step aside so we can kill this thing."

Very different from any other episode I can remember from this new series.

There's a big surprise spoiler at the end of Confidential that comes with no warning, so be...warned.

Wow, just finished "Turn Left." RTD is determined to go out with a bang, isn't he? Great "what if" story that will have continuing reprecussions. And the preview for next week, hail hail the gang's all here!

Well that pretty much knocked me on my ass. Yow!

"The cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bares thinking about." indeed.

Why can't RTD write this well on a more consistent basis?

You mean, write an episode about a companion that ends up in a parallel universe while the Doctor is missing? And then everything resets and the companion still remembers what happened? Sound suspiciously like last year's finale

Billie Piper really looks different when she's not made up to be Rose.

I'm glad Confidential cleared up who the villian was behind this weeks episode. The quick line from the Doctor wasn't enough for me to remember.
