There were some laughs, but I think this just may be the least funny episode of this show, IMO.

At least NBC didn't force it to be Green.

Ya, because Casino Night sucked.

Also, the scene with Michael surprising everyone for their birthdays was friggin hilarious.

She wanted angel food cake. I'm sure she could scoop the frosting off.

One of the worst episodes of the series. And enough with the Green Week BS. It's bad enough this global warming nonsense is being trumped up daily on the Today show and NBC's news programs, we don't need little factoids popping up during prime-time(and don't get me started on what they did with the NFL).

About the only highlight was the scene with Michael and Jim at the end. It's always nice to see the human side of Michael every once in a while.

In that episode I think that Michael was dead set on getting mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.

My office used to combine birthdays as well, especially August. We had about five birthdays in August, including the manager's birthday. Last year we celebrated all of our birthdays on his birthday (his idea obviously). I have moved around a bit and it is a small office but out of the eight years that I have worked here my birthday (in June) was celebrated two times and one was a combo. Ah the joys of having a summer birthday...

Holy crap this was not only one of the worst episodes of the season, but of the entire series, and possibly the worst episode in the history of television.

That being said, I loved Michael jumping out and surprising people on their birthdays. I loved Michael putting his suit back together after realizing it was chilly out. Loved Dwight tackling him when he ate the mushrooms. Loved Creed demanding his peach cobbler "tell her it's for Creed, she'll know what that means..." Loved Andy's reaction to Michael's singing...

There was no driving of anyone into a lake or holding of pizza delivery boys hostage, so it can't be the worst episode.

Thought it was alright, loved Michael cutting the bottom of his pants off and then duct taping them back on.

Dwight describing how if he was a serial killer Michael would surely be dead was good too.

I thought the episode was pretty good.

Michael: "I'm going to come back a changed man."
Jim: "Please do."

I thought she wanted Devil's Food. Besides, Angel Food is still made with eggs, right?

Eggs=Dairy?

I enjoyed it. The scene with Michael talking to Jim about camping was good. Saying camping is about one guy "or two guys if your plans change..." "Not gonna change", and 'Broken Mountain' and all that.

Toby telling Pam they slept under the stars and that is was really beautiful and she should've come. He doesn't give up.

I also liked how once Jim was in a position of authority, he automatically became annoyed with Toby.

Angela approves Andy's Fudgie the Whale cake. A small reference to the Dwight/Angela/Andy thing.

I don't get the cake and dairy references... It's easy to make a cake without dairy, including the frosting.

Thought this was an awesome episode. Most of the highlights have been covered, but I'll admit I busted out laughing at "I tented my pants." It was the sincerity in the delivery that pushed me over.

I also loved Dwight taking the eggs and then looking at the camera to say "Lunch." He is completely in his element out there.

In addition to the great stuff with Jim as Michael, Andy's horror at Michael's harmony, Michael's "Blacks do crack" line and Phyllis's talking head about Michael not being invited, Angela was actually looking pretty smokin' as well. She normally is way too "severe" for me, but with her hair down and a little cleavage showing, that chick has some possibilities.

Unless eggs come from cows now I fail to see the connection.

The best part of the episode was that it wasn't an hour. Thank god.

Couple questions:


1) How much screen time did Ryan Howard, Kelly Kapur, and Darryl have in this episode?

2) Did this episode give Andy Bernard anything to do?

I thought it had it's moments. There aren't much better dwight clips than the reveal of the weapons locations.

Michael in the wild wasn't too funny, but after Jim gets a dose of "managing", and then has a bit of chit-chat with Michael at the end, that was actually some warm, charming stuff as a small bonding moment that makes Jim see Michael in a less buffoonish light, managerial-wise.

1.) I don't think I saw any of the three.

2.) He got a whale tail ice cream cake!

I've been watching this show since the beginning, and they've got an extremely talented staff of writers and actors, and it's remained almost completely intact. Yet, as of late, this talent is being squandered on gags that even the late Benny Hill would reject as "too lowbrow".

We need more episodes like the Jim storyline tonight, and less that are like the Micheal storyline.

Kelly was surprised in the elevator.

Ryan and Darryl were not in the episode, though that's not uncommon.

THey should change the name of this show to

Fighting over party planning and dumb road trips with Michael and Dwight

That's what every episode seems to be about

I guess I understand your points, but I still laugh. I know that sometimes it gets a little ridiculous, but I can't bring myself to be so angry about a show that I still receive plenty of enjoyment from. I guess it helps to keep my expectations in check.

I have to admit that I'm getting tired of the amount of time they spend out of the office.
