The show relies pretty heavily on everything being connected as well. So it would make sense that Kensei would be connected even deeper than just to Hiro and his "symbol".

It's Heroes, I assume he's not actually dead.

Kensei would be hundreds of years old. He's invincible but he still ages.

These rules haven't been established. I'm not saying you're wrong, but we have no idea if Kensei will age.

Not if Hiro brings him back to some time in the 60's or the present via time travel....

that plotline is likely to go off into neverneverland for some time while Zachary Quinto is filming - unless they have somehow pre-filmed mini-segments of the three on their journey to NYC. Kristen Bell starts next week as the new "baddie" in what is rumored to be a 8-10 episode mini-arc plot.
Believe me, I know all about the news Trek film and what it will do to Quinto's schedule. But that does not change the fact that I want Sylar to eat their brains.

Unlike with LOST, we're 4 episodes into the season. This episode was surely scripted, shot, and probably even edited before anybody knew anything of fan hate.

Now, it's possible that they intentionally brought on a couple of characters everybody would hate specifically to give people a reason to root Sylar on for once. I have a feeling Sylar isn't going to be too eager to go eating the black oil girl, though. I think he was a bit creeped out by her power. Of course, he could kill her and let the power go. My guess is that he's going to try to figure out what the powers are with a bit more specificity and then decide whose brain to eat.

Is it just me, or does Monica's power seem kind of lame? Everyone else has the power of telekinesis, flight, healing, etc., and her power is
Spoiler:
that she can do things she sees on tv?!
What's next, a hero that can instantly tell what song is playing on the radio?
Spoiler:
Hmm, so I wonder what would happen if Monica accidentally catches Micah and his cousin watching descrambled Playboy channel?

I don't think that power is lame at all. I would watch hours and hours of Michael Jordan footage and then maybe some great concert pianists too.

The question is whether the power is limited by human capacity. Can she fly and flame on, turn invisible, stretch out, and turn herself into rock just by watching Fantastic Four? I mean, it's clear she could learn the art of bad screenwriting that way. I just don't know whether or not she can learn superhuman abilities that way...

I'm a bit more skeptical now on the whole "Kensei is the mystery killer" thing. When I think of someone like Kensei being immortal, I picture him as pretty much appearing the same as he did once he reached full maturity. It's like when Peter's tattoo disappeared; the healing process for these folks will restore all their damaged tissue to its most healthy state. They can't die of old age because their bodies repair the damage of aging and thus they'll never age at all (once they mature).

Obviously they can't show a normal-looking David Anders in the photo, so he's either not in it, or I don't think Kensei is the killer.

Remember, it's possible somebody isn't pictured in the photo but was there. It could be that this photograph was taken on a timer or something, but it's also possible the photographer could be the killer.

Isn't there some freshman show you'd rather be watching so you can scrutinize it next year?

Good theory, I think Papa Petrelli may be Kensei but I also think Flying Boy is the one who killed Sulu.

Uncalled for.

I liked last season. And yes, the finale was anticlimactic. This season plods along, plod, plod, plod, plod... too many characters... too much setup, not enough payoff... this show needs to show the audience something FAST. This isn't a merchant ivory production, it's friggin' "Heroes"!!

Hey, at least you're now talking about what you don't like instead of just threadcrapping.

So after seeing West fly I was thinking that he might be another one of Nathan Petrellis long lost children. Now that he's dating Claire I would love to see that story line happen. Heroes would take a completely different turn.

All in all a good episode. I don't see the need for the Monica storyline and I think he powers are pretty lame. If I told you that you can watch a show in which a lead charactor who is a fast food clerk perfroms a '619' on a burglar, would this be a show you would want to watch? I wish she had learned the People's Elbow instead. At least that way we would know the writers aren't taking themselves seriously. Thankfully there was enough good stuff in the episode to offset this.

I don't mind the wondertwins. I don't know why but I think their story will lead somewhere satisfying.

Did anyone else notice that in the picture of HRG dead and Claire in the background, she's not being taken away, but she's kissing someone?

Fly Boy is integrated into HRGs future in some way yet to be seen, unless Claire falls for someone else.

Um...yes. That's the whole reason HRG is harping on the boyfriend thing. He knows that if she's kissing someone, he's dead.

I'm REALLY hoping some there's going to be some character cull soon. Unfortunately, these temp characters are seriously lacking the charm of their equivalents from last year.

I should think that, after New York City didn't blow up, that Isaac's paintings of the future would then be "off."

Since all of his paintings were, by necessity, done before the Petersplosion, then I would assume that the future he was painting had changed when NYC wasn't destroyed.

Didn't Sylar also use that loft for painting? If the changed fate of NYC was apparent to him at some point through his painting, perhaps he was the one who painted the series of 8 they're looking for.
