It looks like it almost tied for 2nd last night and may have won it's 1/2 hour time slot.
The show started off pretty slow, the laugh track was unnecessary, but I also liked the angle with the kid and had a tear in my eye at the end.
Yes and it seems that this may have something other than newsroom comedy, it has a father trying to start a relationship with daughter who he never knew he had.
I'll watch for awhile and see how it goes.

"Deal or No Deal," 6.4/11, put NBC on top at 8 p.m. The debut of "Kid Nation" earned a 5.8/10 for CBS. FOX slid into third with the premieres of "Back to You," 6.0/10, and "'Til Death," 4.9/8. "America's Next Top Model" began its season with a 3.2/5 for The CW, topping a pair of "According to Jim" reruns on ABC.

Well this ain’t NewsRadio nor was the “pilot” as good as the 30 Rock “pilot” (which started out a little rough) but I think, Back To You has some potential.
First off, this show doesn’t need a Laugh Track. It just really, really doesn’t need one. I don’t know were the hell they found the Laugh Track that they used but it’s one of the worst sounding Laugh Tracks for a sitcom that I’ve ever heard. I hope FOX asks the producers to due away with the ‘LT’ altogether or change it so it doesn’t sound fake & forced.
I’m a big Cheers & Frasier fan & I’m also a big Kelsey Grammer fan & it’s sad that his real life isn’t as ‘smooth’ because he’s got great comedic talent & he’s one of the best comedic actors of all-time in my opinion. I was glad that his character, Chuck Darling, didn’t feel like the Frasier character which was impressive because he’s played Frasier for along time.
Now I’m not a Patricia Heaton fan & Everybody Loves Raymond is one of the most generic sitcoms I’ve ever seen. She wasn’t bad on Back To You & I think she & Grammer have some decent chemistry together & it will probably improve more as the actors get into the grove of the show.
All the other characters were all pretty ‘Blah’ & it’s definitely Heaton & Grammer that are the leads of the show & I didn’t get the ‘ensemble’ feel like with NewsRadio. Fred Willard was good on Roseanne but his character just feels like a prop on Back To You.
Anyways, I’ll definitely keep tuning in & I bet things will get better. I don’t think this will be the next NewsRadio or 30 Rock but you never know & I hope this one stays around for awhile.
Hell it’s a lot better than that show starring Mr. ‘I can only do unfunny Jewish jokes’, ‘Til Death.

Normally I really dislike sitcoms because most of the new ones just aren't that funny IMO. But, I was actually entertained by this. Grammer was solid and he does have some good chemistry with Heaton. I didn't laugh for the 1st 10 minutes or so, but then there were some decent chuckle moments. I went ahead and season passed it.

Was looking forward to this, but it took a tremendous amount of willpower not to change the channel. If I wasn't waiting for Til Death, I probably would have. I guess I can play my guitar 30 mins longer on Wednesday nights.

I watched a little bit during the network airing and decided to download the pilot on iTunes to watch the whole episode. Thankfully, the episode was a free download. It was very predictable and the characters seems to be caricatures however, I'll give it one more episode before pulling the plug.
