It was cool. I like both stars and the Back in the day intro was funny. I also love how one show airs and everyone is ready to dump it.
Anyway, I'm sure the show will get better as it finds its legs. Provided people give it a chance....
It will be cool to see Heaton in expensive clothes instead of the housewife stuff on "Raymond".

Moving on, no it wasn't the strongest pilot I've ever seen and that the laugh track flat out sucked, but I'd watch Grammer read the ingredients on the side of a cereal box so I'm in for next week.
And Patrica Heaton gives me the hawt too. I can't explain it.

Eh. I didn't find it as bad as some of you did. The Latina character was a bit grating, but I think the show has some potential. I'll watch another episode or two to see how it develops.
Plus, on a side note, within the last day or so, my area FINALLY has a Fox HD feed. So, this was the very first Fox show that I've ever been able to watch in HD.

I didn't find the 30 Rock pilot all that great either, but I stuck with it and it got a whole lot better as the season went along. I don't expect the same thing to happen here, but with the talent in front and behind the camera, I'm willing to keep going to find out.
Issues with the pilot: The news director just seems like a younger version of Kenny from Frasier, the weather girl is seriously one dimensional (from a personality standpoint ) and how the pilot played out was obvious.
I would've preferred to see this take place in, oh I don't know, Boise instead of Pittsburgh. To me, returning to the 22nd ranked TV market from the 2nd just isn't as steep of a fall as they seem to make it out to be.

Had some laughs, I'll stick with it to let them work out the kinks.
There are not too many good comedies out there, so I will give this a shot to get its act together, there some potential here.

It wasn't great, but there were some funny moments (such as the puns in the editorial), and the chemistry works. The guy from Dawn of the Dead had some good lines as well.
They need to ditch the laugh track.

The show seemed way too contrived for my tastes. Perhaps it was because it's a pilot. I don't know. The characters were all too stereotypical, especially the Hispanic newscaster who over pronounces everything. It's been done, and it's been done much better.
I can't imagine I'll bother with this show ever again. And yes, Patrcia Heaton is hot.

That said, I didn't find it very funny at all. Certainly wouldn't be TiVo material or must-see-TV for me. But I wouldn't be surprised if it hung around for a while.
Honestly, the hardest thing to do is listen to the studio audience's laughter-on-cue. I've gotten so used to great comedy like My Name is Earl, the Office and Arrested Development WITHOUT a "laugh track" that this seems like a jolt back to a decade ago. Seinfeld made it work, being on film, as did Everybody Loves Raymond, but this kind of show is definitely fading.

I can't stand Grammer and I really have no idea who Patricia Heaton is. I only tuned in because I heard good reviews and I found out Fred Willard was in it.
There was definitely not enough Willard in it for me.
I actually laughed at a few lines, and I don't have conflicts in the time period, so I will watch a few episodes before I decide to keep it or not.
I was initially confused by the opening flashback. It looked more like 1976 than 1996. Did they really think people looked like that 10 years ago?

I'm trying to limit my TV this season (ya rite), so even though it looked interesting and I do like Heaton, the presence of Kelsey Grammer is enough to keep me away.

I liked it. I thought it was funny enough for me to keep watching, even though the daughter angle was a bit of a groaner (I kind of hate when sitcoms get all serious on me - even Scrubs plays this card far too often)...but I am going to keep tuning in because I laughed enough and I'm sure it'll only get better as it finds it's footing.

Good lord, this is catastrophe television. It really makes we wonder -- when you have something this BAD, how can you (producers/network) not KNOW it's this bad?

It seemed kind of "summer league," the thing you watch to avoid reruns. Whether I return depends on what else is on at the time as other networks launch their season.
