I am so f'ing stoked!! I got all nostalgic when I caught it on ESPN (classic?) the other weekend. I hope they don't f' with the games too much. Assault (the one with the cannon) and the balls in the cylinder game are staples. I don't care as much about the rings. The rushing/wrestling thing was pretty good.

p, I'm right there with ya!!! I caught this the other day as well, and watched the whole frickin' episode. I also hope the keep a lot of the old games you mentioned. I'd also like to see them keep the "jousting on pedestals" one, too!

Official Website

Looks like Hogan's not alone. His co-host will be Layla Ali. The site has all the events listed. Not sure if any are new. Looks like mostly old ones. They do mention there will now be water based challenges.

Can't seem to track down a premier date.

I think it's going to premiere sometime early in 2008. You know, when there aren't any more episodes of scripted TV anymore.

Can't wait after watching the actual preview. It looks EXACTLY like the original, it even looks just as cheesy. According to the site on NBC, "Assault" is back! Hell, it looks like all they did was dust off the original set.

According to NBC's affiliate Web site, this will air in HD. Surprising, but .

No mullets no sale. They could have at least brought back the host from season 2 with the raging mullet and the porn stash.

I'll be watching. If they didn't screw with the formula, it should be great.

God, I can't wait to see what cool nicknames the new Gladiators have! I'm hoping one will be called "Murder" just because that would be an awesome nickname!

nbc's official site has all the information on gladiators and contestants. i don't recognize the earthquake event, but the rest seem old school.

for Assault. Loved that. I like the new twist on Joust, with the loser falling into the water...good touch.

i was watching Craig Ferguson last night, and he had a joke about Militia having been in gay porn (aparently, it's true).

Starts in a couple hours!

The pictures on their website are too funny:

This chick is 5-0 as an MMA fighter, and pretty damn hot. Especially compared to the other girls.

You shouldnt be allowed to throw the ball in powerball, IMO. The rims are too wide.

lol well already had a funny line with the one woman saying she likes "fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds" .... even if they mean it, nobody says that on tv

and there's already an injury

*something tells me the male selection process was a bit harder .. a single mom and now a doctor?

I remember the powerball openings being not much bigger than the size of the ball.

Did they used to narrate the action? Don't think they did...like it better that way.
