I thought it was good and will tune in next week. It was better than the past few shows FX has launched.

Close was great.

It reminded me a bit of Rob Lowe's post-West Wing failure "The Lyon's Den"

Yeah, very good first episode that screams a Golden Globe nomination for Close. Unlike some serialized dramas, this one has hooked me so far. Hopefully it will continue...

Got off to a great start, imo. Close vs Danson looks to be a helluva battle.

I really enjoyed it. One of the reviews I read said that episode 2 is when it really gets riveting.

I will watch the replay tonight. The promos were very annoying with their ambiguity and really made me feel like not watching, especially after how lousy Dirt was and how "meh" The Riches was.

Hopefully I wil get into it.

OK to VG ... even if they telegraphed the ending set-up. Obligatory off thread remark: loved DIRT and THE RICHES.

Excellent start. The way it's laid out is pretty cool. The dog collar at the end was quite the twist.

I think the girl looks a lot like Di Di from The Riches. I thought the pilot was pretty good.

So I take it we don't know what Glenn Close received and threw in the water at the end?

Episode wasn't bad - I'll check it out next week.

^ Yep, it was. I kind of suspected she was behind it, but still a good twist.

Same here. I enjoyed it. It looks like Glen Close's character is going to be one that I love to hate. Should be fun.

I bet she was glad that her clients were taking the deal so she could "fire" the guy. Boy, that worked out perfectly. Only on tv...

Still pretty good episode. I'll be tuning in.

Possibly one of the best pilots since The Shield. Very strong beginning, let's see where this goes.

Yeah.. loved how in the beginning she and opposing counsel had a conversation w/ the Lady Foreperson on the courthouse steps DURING deliberations,,
Only on Tv is right.

Good start... I'm looking forward to finding out how the beginning became the end for her. She seems to be in some deep trouble.....
I hope it doesn't turn out that the boyfriend was in on it from the beginning too and she had to defend herself, because as it stands right now, it looks like she killed him.

I guess I'm in the minority. I thought it was a very poor pilot. The acting was particularly bad. Everything was obvious from the moment her fiancee's sister was revealed to know Frobisher. I will admit that the preview for the rest of the season did look far more intriguing than the pilot episode itself. I will tune in next week to see if my opinion changes, but so far, not so good for me.

I thought this pilot was excellent. Even if the ending was telegraphed, the acting on this show is pretty great and they have set up some very interesting characters and I am really interested to see where this is heading (in the past and the present). FX is back on track with this one (although after a very slow start, I did end up really liking The Riches).

While I agree with this statement for the most part, I don't believe if I would use the qualifier "particularly" in regards to the acting. It was bad, on some levels, but on others it was quite good.

I feel as though the fault lies in the dialogue. Some of it felt amateurish and hackneyed, without any sort of "feeling" behind it.

I will undoubtedly be tuning in for a few weeks, but the script will have to pull itself from the drugery to truly drive it's talons in me.
