Damages on F/X
 

anyone know anything about this new show on F/X? stars glenn close and is starting up july 24, guess it's about high stakes litigation. but that's all i know, so i am intrigued. i like close and F/X...so i'm trying to find out more.

I'm glad they were able to find her an F/X series to shoot in NYC. Her year on The Shield was pretty strong. This sounds alot like Shark, tho, doesn't it?

yea, she was great on the shield. i have always liked her.

and from what i can tell this is much darker than shark (although i never watched that show)....and from what i have read it focuses on just one case instead of a new one every week, which is what every other run of the mill legal show does. regardless im looking forward to it.

This show looks DOA beyond all belief. The hype adds do nothing for me.

i think that is a bit harsh considering not that much is out yet -- and especially with the quality f/x has produced lately.

The ads for this show have been pretty annoying. They tell you virtually nothing. That's fine for a teaser 4 months out, but when it's coming in two weeks, you better show me more than a well-known actress and a series name if you expect me to watch.

Right now I have no plans to do so.

I usually give FX shows a shot, and I usually get rewarded with at least a half decent show. On top of that, the only cancellation I really cared all that much about was Lucky (I still miss that one -- it would have gone great with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

I havent been able to tivo it yet. Its on on the guide yet.
I will watch this and the new Holly Hunter show. Both look good.

FX has a pretty good track record so I will give it a shot. The Riches is the only show they've made so far that I haven't cared for.

I'm ready to skip this just because F/X feels the need to promo it at EVERY commercial break of Rescue Me for as long as this season has been going on. It's enough already.

Didn't get you stop watching Rescue Me even though it was promo-ed every commercial break for the duration of the Shield's latest season...

Glenn Close is a great actor & her stint on The Shield was excellent. I hope that it's not alot like Shark because as much of a James Woods fan I am, I find Shark to be boring Legal Drama.

FX is usually pretty good with it's original programming with the exeption of that horrible Courteney Cox Drama, Dirt.

Always have to give F/X shows a shot, but their last few offerings (Over There, Dirt, The Riches) have been misses.

No, because Rescue Me is an established excellent show. Damages looks like it has the potential to suck, and Ted Danson is creepy. He haunts my dreams.

Totally agree, I don't want to get involved in a show that probably won't make it... especially when it doesn't even look that interesting.

I hate even having to fast forward through them on the DVR.

I'd already been watching Rescue Me for 3 years. The promo's were fun, and smartass and got me re-hyped for a show I already liked.

That being said, if I was not a fan, or had never seen the show, those ads probably would have had me pulling my hair out.

FX needs to stop bombarding every break with these, just like it needs to kill their stupid, F-ing "FX HAS THE MOVIES!" campaign with a shovel.

Dirt and The Riches were picked up for second seasons with mediocre ratings so I don't see why this would not.

Matt Roush from TVguide loved it.

That's Rose Byrne, probably the only reason I'll be tuning in. She was my pick to play Lois Lane.

gotta agree. rose byrne is great. but she won't be the only reason im watching! glenn close + f/x as well. looking forward to this next week for sure.

yup. she has been in a bunch of stuff. she is great. she was in 28 weeks later too. i think she is pretty up and coming. this show could really launch her.

bump for the premiere tonight at 10! im so excited. this looks to be an awesome addition to my summer tv.
