The "If Your Into It" song was great.

It gets better every week. My wife only catches a couple of minutes of it, and she hates it. I am trying to get her to give it a chance.

Sounds like mine, but she has laughed - although I hear "this is stupid" more.

Flight Of The Conchords 7/15/07 - "Sally Retuns"

Well, the other Sunday HBO shows get their own threads, and while Conchords hasn't been a big hit, it does have a cult following (including me! ). So let's see if anyone wants to post thoughts about tonight's episode.

Spoiler:
With Bret preoccupied with Coco, a lonely Jemaine visits the Laundromat--and runs into Sally, the "most beautiful girl in the room" who dumped him (and Bret) earlier this year. Envisioning a new life with Sally--including making "Business Time" with her every Wednesday night--Jemaine's dreams take a detour when he learns she won't spend time with him until he gets his own place. After attending a band meeting in which Murray reveals he's used their retirement fund to invest in "real estate," Jemaine moves into a "studio compartment" in a fancy doorman building, and plans a space-warming party. Unfortunately, the date of his bash conflicts with Sally's birthday, and Bret, who reveals he's still in love with Sally, forsakes Jemaine's party in favor of Sally's, where he trumps Jemaine with a special hand-crafted gift. As Jemaine cuts short his festivities to head over to Sally's party, both suitors are in for the shock of their lives (well, maybe just a shock). (TV14) (AC,AL)

I'm not usually happy when they recycle songs from their stand up routine, but this time I say bring on
Spoiler:
"Business Time"

HBO has put an episode for viewing online:

(probably to build interest in the show - I doubt they do this for very long)

Business Time was great, as was the song at the end where they both declared their love. This show took a few viewings to get me hooked, but once you get in, you wont get out, its truly a funny, funny show.

Good episode.

Rachel Blanchard seems to be doing pretty much the same character as she did on BBC's Peep Show.

Sorting out the recycling is not part of foreplay, but it's still important.

This show is great! I watched the first 4 eps in one sitting and I was hooked after the first episode. Ep 3 is my favorite so far.

I turned off the first ep, but sat through the third and now I'm hooked. Now I need to catch repeats of the first two eps. The recycling/foreplay bit had me rolling!

Flight of the Conchords "Bowie" 07/22/07

Easily the weakest episode so far, IMO. Jermaine as Bowie was the only thing I laughed at.

Yeah, I liked the song Jermaine wrote for Bret, but other than that I didn't like it much. The Bowie thing was just too weird IMO - and they didn't quite nail Labyrinth Bowie (although the bobbles were a nice touch) I found the 'Bowie in Space' segment to be pretty weak. Although when Mel was complimenting Bret (and slamming Jermaine), that was pretty funny too.

Yeah, easily the worst episode yet. The songs were just weird rather than funny. I did like Jermaine's song to Bret, though. Is it gay if I liked that song?

What was the deal with the magazine photo? The first time we see it, it's a distance shot with the caption "Tenacious Dundee?" Then when they show it again, it's a close up, and the caption is gone.

Jemaine's (not Jermaine) song:

I thought the episode was great. I loved the Bowies, the photo shoot, and everything.

It's dangerously close to venturing too far into crazy town a la later seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but this show is just freaking great. I was cracking up.

"I am 1987 Bowie from the film Labyrinth."

It's 1986 Bowie. I thought it was by far the weakest episode. Few laughs to be found, and after last week's near classtic, it's even more disappointing. Still Mel steals every scene she's in. Hoping for better stuff next week.

A few funny moments, but I also agree that it was the weakest episode thus far.
