Every year they pull some outrageous twist at the end that switches everybody's opinion from "that was terrible" to "OMG BEST SEASON EVER!!!". It'll interesting to see what they have in their hat for this season.

As for this year's ending, I've heard for months what it's supposed to be. The only question is who's talking to Jack.

I don't think any season has been saved by its finale. Five and one were consistently good, Four was OK, Two was great until the bomb went off, then it was kinda dull.

I don't think any "outrageous twist at the end" has ever changed my view of a season of 24's quality as a whole. I can't think of a single thing they could do that would change my opinion that this season has been its weakest.
The best I'm hoping for is that the finale is going get me excited about next season.

Liking the ep so far. I'm pretty jaded, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they manage to find a way to screw it up.
So far, though, it's what 24 is supposed to be about. I'm just surprised that instead of Chloe saying "that was really brave" to Nadia, I expected some Chloe-ism about not being told what the plan was.
And hey, what about Morris kicking some ass? Nearly drowned? Beat with a baseball bat? Drill bit to the shoulder? Nothing stops Morris!!!

True, but I'll take what I can get.
Argh, and we get the Elizabeth Nash storyline redux.
EDIT: Man, I was really hoping if we could go an entire season without the obligatory "new asshole from Division comes and pokes his nose into CTU's business" subplot.

Uh, you mean Season FOUR is about to be replaced. It was bad from beginning to end.

Forgetting for a second the ridiculousness that the Russians are pissed about the Chinese obtaining the component, when its their own fault in the first place that it is even over here...
...but if all of your defensive strategies are about to be compromised because this component fell into the wrong hands, is it really the smartest thing to RUSH INTO A WAR as a result?
Those must be some great, necessary strategies if you can come up with a solid battle plan as soon as your old plans are compromised.

Is it just me or does Josh look like Ricky Schroder when he was in Silver Spoons. Even dresses the same with the stupid V neck sweaters and collared shirts underneath.

Good until the predictable end. As soon as Jack recovered the kid, we said "Grandpa will be calling the White House soon..."
My guess for the last 2 episodes will be that Josh is sent to China and at the end of the last ep Jack finds out that Josh is his kid. The next season is Jack in China trying to find Josh.
Which, of course, means that it won't happen.
