Hiro gave HRG a list of 3 people he wanted. DL, Candice and Molly Walker. We know Sylar got to DL but when did he get Candice? He says Nathan had already turned on his people by the time he killed him so I'm guessing he killed Candice and then Nathan 4 or so years ago?

Molly Walker was the frozen guy's little girl, right? the one parkman saved from sylar way back in one of the first episodes?

This is shaping up to be the most perfect season of television ever, story-wise. If they do wrap this all up in the next few episodes and complete a coherent chapter, it wouldn't matter if season 2 sucks or ends up being contradictory prequel (Linderman, Ma Petrelli, etc) if I can just pop this into the HD-DVD player and have a kick ass 3-day weekend reliving it. |

Thanks for posting that pankwindu, I thought I was going to have to do it myself in an attempt to explain the timeline.

If you go by typical "good" time-travel storytelling standards (where alternate timelines branch off in logical spots and aren't just thrown out there willy-nilly) then there are only 2 timelines (so far). Timeline 1 - The original "natural" timeline, experienced by future Hiro and unaltered by time travel: - Hiro stabs Sylar. - Sylar heals. - implies Sylar killed Claire. - implies Peter never met Claire. - Sylar (reportedly) blows up New York. - Hiro, over 5 years' time, pieces together information and comes up with his Save the Cheerleader plan. Timeline 2 - When future Hiro travels to the present to warn Peter, we get a branch in the timeline. Events can now occur differently than future Hiro remembers them. We've been watching this particular timeline ever since the subway warning episode. It is established that tonight's episode is the continuation of that timeline when present Hiro informs future Hiro that Claire is still alive. Thus, everything we witness in this episode actually took place in the 5 subsequent years of the timeline we were already watching. Namely: - Peter saves Claire. (we already watched this happen) - Peter blows up New York. (exact circumstances unknown) - Peter's involvement is covered up and Sylar is blamed. - Peter has a scar. ????? - Sylar kills chameleon lady. - Sylar kills and impersonates Nathan. - Sylar finally gets Claire's healing ability, much later than in the "natural" timeline. Anyway, from a narrative perspective, I can't think of many good reasons for Peter to have a scar except to imply that he can't heal. (The only other possibility would be a cheap gotcha-type red herring, which so far this show has been too intelligent to resort to.) And as such it is extremely inconsistent that Peter has a scar and that Claire is alive in the same timeline. So they better have a damn good explanation for that scar. Otherwise, I think the writers simply botched the time-travel aspect and got their timelines a little mixed up. Which is ok, it's easy to do, very few shows/stories do it well. Incidentally, following this episode we will now be watching Timeline 3 - present Hiro returning to the present with knowledge he didn't have before, thus creating another branch point and again giving the possibility of events being able to occur differently. |

On another note, I've had a hell of a time with Heroes the last two weeks.
I Tivo 24 at the same time, and for two weeks now Heroes has been all fucked up while 24 is perfectly fine. I record both shows with my HD antenna, and maybe there is something wrong with that tuner but I haven't noticed the problem on any other show we watch - just Heroes - the show that I DON'T want to miss. It's really annoying. It records for the full hour but only has like 10 minutes of green bar showing and stops when it reaches the end. Last night, just in case we had problems again, I also recorded it in SD on the upstairs Tivo - good thing I did too. But we had thunderstorms rolling through, so the satellite image got fucked up when HRG was testing the kid's blood. It's like the gods don't want me to see the show. |
Ohh I wish this show had a bigger budget - it would have been soo cool to see some of the fights.
I totaly got a bad ass Return of the Jedi vibe when we see Peter in this episode - dressed in black, confident of his powers and ready to kick the ass of anyone who crosses him. |

Was it just me, or was the anti-specials legislation President Nathan mentioned called the "Lindeman Act"?

I hate to dampen the mood here, but how do you top this season? I have never seen so many people call this show/episode/season the most perfect TV ever, in 1 thread. I mean once season 2 comes around, how do you top these characters, how do you top "Peter" being president, how do you top saving the world? While I was talking to co-workers about the show it almost seems that they used up all the good stuff too soon? I just hope season 2 can live up to such high expectations, and I mean these are going to be some seriously high expectations here. I know I know season 1 isn't over yet, but it just got me thinking. Oh well, if season 2 sucks, at least we will get a HD DVD release to watch...... and Blu Ray supporters can bite me :p -wink- :p Hayden   Does anybody have ratings out on this episode yet? Also, anybody know what it costs to film each episode? Last nights CGI fest must have been pricey. |
