There seem to be conflicting ideas of how long Sylar has been posing at Nathan. Here are the broad strokes of how I think the chain of events went down:
- Sylar kills the shape shifter - Sylar kills Nathan and starts impersonating him - Peter explodes in NYC - Sylar as Nathan somehow convinces Peter that Sylar must have been killed in the explosion, so since he's dead anyway they finger Sylar as the exploder. Otherwise, wouldn't Peter be under the impression that Sylar WAS still out there somewhere, even if the rest of the world believed Nathan's cover-up? |
It seems very in character for Nathan to setup a presumed dead Sylar in order to protect his brother. I don't buy Sylar posing as Nathan for five years while working with a mind reader and the Haitian.
Regarding the Haitian, someone said earlier he had no cause to nullify Nathan's flying power, but I think his nullification field is an automatic thing, although apparently he can control it to some extent because Matt was able to use his mind reading ability while he suppressed Hiro's abilities during the interrogation. Earlier in the season Matt was able to read HRG mind outside Primatech when the Haitian was present but unaware of Matt. It took quite an effort, which I assumed was from break through the Haitians latent blocking ability, although perhaps it was just because he was far away from HRG. |
But if it was Real Nathan that lied to protect Peter, then both Real Nathan and Peter would be thinking that Sylar is still alive and out there somewhere, right? It would also mean that Sylar had to have coincidentally been keeping a low profile and not engaging in any killing/power stealing.

Sylar SAID that Nathan started the 'anti-Hero' movement LONG before Sylar killed him
|
Peter said "You'll pay for what you did to Nathan...what you did in his name"
Sylar said "When I killed Nathan he had already turned against his own kind' - that doesn't necessarily mean he started an anti-hero movement. Nathan has never really embraced the whole hero thing, even within himself. It will be interesting when the show returns to the 'present' and we can see how things really unfold. |
Yes great episode which needs rewatching.

I got a question...soo...where is Hiro's dad in all of this? I thought he was the guy in charges of Claire's dad's whole outfit. But then, now they're saying Linderman? So...is Hiro's dad > Linderman? I don't get it...

Boldly going where no man has gone before? |

The exploding man is just like "Damage" from DC Comics:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...5px-Damage.jpg 1. He has the power to release energy from his body and blow things up 2. He accidentally blew up half of downtown Atlanta |
