I must say, I did enjoy munching on a big bowl of popcorn while watching this episode.

What are the odds Kate and Cassidy meet in Iowa?

Juliet seems to be the trojan horse, but I guess we'll find out in due time.

Why doesn't Kate simply ask her how she/they know so much about Jack and the rest of the Losties? Stuff like that just makes me roll my eyes with this show.

The Hurley-Sawyer subplot was a little cheesy, but did undercut the tension with the Juliet-Kate subplot. Those ladies look damn good in mud, was hoping for a mud wrestling fight, but it was not to be.

firteen88 04-04-07 10:09 PM

like I predicted, I thought that was a snooze fest. I hate Kate's backstories.

B.A. 04-04-07 10:09 PM

Jack didn't need to give Kate the cold shoulder.

Any chance they kill Locke before the season finale?

Patman 04-04-07 10:11 PM

Anyone buying that Juliet doesn't know much about Smokey? Smokey scanned Juliet, moreso than Kate...hmmm...

I sure as hell hope not

RichC2 04-04-07 10:11 PM

I think they know a little about it but never actually encountered it.

It's possible, I don't care for his character so much anymore. That said, they need to stop killing off survivors, or they're working toward nothing.

Ranger 04-04-07 10:12 PM

Good episode but really hope that's the last time we see Kate's mom.

zuffy 04-04-07 10:14 PM

This episode is much better than last week with Nikki and Apollo, even though I did enjoyed that episode too in an entertainment way.

Spoiler:
in the preview for next week, that silver thingy, is that the top of the submarine?

I'm guessing they have (had) communications with the outside world, as IIRC everything they've shown to know about the Losties so far has been stuff that could be found online/in stories about the victims of a plan crash/or by reading somebodies government related files.

Maybe we're to assume that's what the Losties figure as well?

Spoiler:
Yeah, I think it's Juliet when she first showed up on the island. I think it's her backstory next week, which should be interesting.

B.A. 04-04-07 10:17 PM

zuffy - I believe so.

That would be awesome.

aktick 04-04-07 10:20 PM

I liked this ep, but I hated Kate's backstory (and I usually like them all, even those others hate).

So first Ben uses Kate to manipulate Jack, and now he's using Jack to manipulate Kate? Something along those lines...

I hope Juliet is really being outcast, and isn't just being put there as a mole, that'd be way too obvious. Sayid will surely figure it out - has he been wrong in reading somebody yet?

B.A. 04-04-07 10:20 PM

All complaining aside - I have loved the addition of Elizabeth Mitchell. She's the only quality addition that they have made since Eko.

zuffy 04-04-07 10:22 PM

I said the same thing to my wife, to have Juliet as a mole is too obvious.

SuperBatMan 04-04-07 10:25 PM

An okay episode. It seemed more like one set to connect two big plots together. Locke leaving with the Others now after they brought his dad to the island and told him about Kate and probably everyone else.

It will be interesting to see if Juliet is just a spy or if she's really been 'banished' from the Others. Hopefully it's not just being a spy because it would make her story progression a waste of time.

I would agree, but if she is the mole, then it wouldn't be the first time this show has insulted us (i.e. the viewers).

I guess they WERE going to do something *bad* to her after Jack revealed she wanted to off Ben. So maybe this is her punishment now. But it's just one of those things you won't ever be sure of. I still think Tom will be sympathetic to her and end up siding with the Losties.

And I agree, Juliet's character has been a great addition to the show.

:hscratch: And who was Not in Portland a flashback episode of then?

zuffy 04-04-07 10:29 PM

If I was Jack, Kate, and Sayid, I would bring all the Losties to the abandon village. Protected fence, houses, water, electric. Much better than the beach front imo.

B.A. 04-04-07 10:29 PM

Those four better bring the survivors back to the now-empty village.

But you know that they won't, because that would make too much sense. Just like letting other people know some of the interesting things that they have learned during their travels around the island.

Ummm...others have had more than one flashback episode, haven't they?

But since you are the spoiler king, I'm guessing you know who's backstory it actually is next week.

So she is limited to only 1 flashback? :hscratch: I am assuming this flashback will cover her arriving at the island?

RichC2 04-04-07 10:34 PM

I think
Spoiler:
Juliet's flashback will be her "Island Flashback" like Claire had a while back.

Yeah, kind of like
Spoiler:
Desmonds?

And Josh - can you confirm that's who next week's flashback is of?
