Sam Waterston isn't an original cast member.

The only DA I have ever liked is the one Michael Moriarty played.

Michael Moriarty and Sam Waterston have played not DA but Executive ADAs. I too prefer Moriarty.
I still miss the original DA, Adam Schiff (played by Steven Hill). The others just seem like fakes to me.

Fall Outlook: A Variety of Views on FNL, L&O and More
Which new shows might not live on past their freshman run? Which old standards may be taking their final bow? While the current TV Guide offers a look at the fates of many "bubble" shows, here, as companion reading, are excerpts from Variety's own view:
NBC
The consensus among insiders is that "both 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights stand a very good shot" at renewals, while "there aren't many... at NBC clamoring" for more Studio 60, says the trade. Between Crossing Jordan and Medium, "odds favor just one returning" — or perhaps neither. ABC might admit Scrubs if NBC can't negotiate a cut in its license fee. As SVU marches on, "it's unlikely" that both the original Law & Order and CI will continue.
ABC
"It's unclear" if What About Brian will get a third chance, while Men in Trees and Six Degrees (depending on its imminent encore) could see sophmore runs. Knights of Prosperity has fans in high places at ABC who foresee an Office-like swell in popularity. The Nine's number is almost assuredly up.
CBS
It''l be bombs away if Jericho's ratings don't improve once Idol goes away. While suits are happy with The Class' progress, strong outings by Old Christine in the Mondays-at-8:30 slot could dismiss Jason Ritter & Co. Rules of Engagement is likely to return. "The jury's still out on Close to Home."
Fox
With Bones and House already renewed, Standoff has one more shot at proving itself when it moves to Fridays later this month.
CW
Veronica Mars' failure to improve much this year puts it in serious jeopardy, while the Gilmore Girls' fate relies on contract talks with key players. 7th Heaven will probably bid a more final farewell, while All of Us is faring worst of the comedies.

That's a little more positive news about The Class.
Veronica Mars just lost the dude who plays Piz to the Grey's Anatomy/Addison spinoff. That doesn't make the show's renewal chances look any better.

The disheartening thing is the ratings that the Pussycats Dolls show has gotten in Veronica Mars time slot. That unfortunately, will mean the end of the show.

. I like Rappaport... he needs to be in something. But I wonder if TV is the best place for him... at least if sitcoms are. Sounds like "Fugly" is another one.I just hope FNL and 30 Rock stick around for at least one more season. I'd like to see some of the stories wrapped up on FNL before it disappears. It's an excellent show that apparently a lot of people are missing out on.

That Zap2it article only says that "With FOX's "The War at Home" sitting on the renewal bubble, star Michael Rapaport has booked a alternative pilot gig just in case." Nowhere does it state the TWAH has been officially cancelled. I'm not disputing that it isn't likely to return after this season, but until FOX announces otherwise, it has not been cancelled.
