The Sopranos is ending. It isn't being cancelled.

NBC: I have 8 weeks of Studio 60 sitting on my DVR. I hope to eventually get to them. But I wouldn't be surprised if it gets the axe. As for Friday Night Lights, since the OC is gone, this is my one source for teen drama. I hope it sticks around.

ABC: I don't watch any sitcoms, so none of those shows matter to me.

CBS: I really like Close to Home and I especially like Jennifer Finnigan and David James Elliott. However, the show is getting really predictable. Plus, Jen Finnigan is 28 years old and her character is written as a much older person. I can see why this show isn't getting younger viewers. I am actually preferring watching Shark instead of this.

FOX: Again, I don't watch any of their sitcoms. Standoff doesn't surprise me at all. The episodes that I did see were very predictable and only moderately entertaining.

The CW: I have every Veronica Mars episode DVR'd, but I think this show is a goner.

I'd be pretty sad to see Veronica Mars go. It sucks that they can't do a better job of figuring out a way to keep shows around that might not have the biggest following, but have a really loyal following.

The good news is that we know for sure now that Lincoln Heights is getting a second season.

As long as Supernatural, One tree Hill, and another season of Beauty and the geek returns next winter I will be happy.

CBS & NBC - no real surprises here... I've been expecting the failure of "Studio 60" and the success of 'Friday night Lights' for awhile now.

ABC - Honestly, I would be SHOCKED if 'Men in Trees' isn't renewed... It may only keep about 50-60% of 'Grey's Holdover" but 11 million (which is only about a million less than lost) is not bad considering what its typically up against. 50/50 for 'What about Brian'??? Thats SHOCKS ME!!! I would sure this show was sure as gone... I guess pilot season will determine it's fate

CW - As much as I truly, truly hate to say it this is exactly what I was expecting. I really really don't want to see 'Gilmore Girls' go (it is my last long-running series and without it 'Grey's' will be the next closest thing), and I hope they can figure out something with the girls, but if they can't well then its better to end it now than do continue without one of them. 'Veronica Mars' while never appointment televsion was always solid and will be missed, but honestly with its viewership and the numerous second/third/forth chances it has been given, its kinda time to throw in the towel. '7th Heaven' needs to go, even if its slot is filled with ANT reunions, please just put it out of its misery. On the plus side it looks like 'One Tree Hill' might have a future - which makes me happy because as much as I will never admit this to the real world, its a very favorable guilty pleasure of mine.

Why? If the show looked interesting enough for you to record, why not give it a try. I like it, and even if I don't get any more episodes beyond the ones that have already aired, it was still a fun show and worth watching.

There is a huge difference between a cancellation and an ending. Yes in both cases the show is gone, but a cancellation means that the show didn't go out as the producers/writers/cast wanted it to. Whereas an ending is a mutually agreed spot, and is the only time the story can be successfully/fully complete.

I've got every episode of Studio 60 sitting on my DVR ...
Consider the Christmas episode a series finale and end your viewing there.

Studio 60 getting canned is going to hurt. Like "lose my faith in television and stop watching it altogether" hurt.

I think 30 Rock and Supernatural are safe because NBC and CW execs have to be aware that 9pm-10pm on Thursdays is maybe the toughest hour on TV for their networks because they're up against two Top-10 shows in ABC's Grey's Anatomy and CBS's CSI. No show they put on, no matter how good, is going to do well against that competition.

NBC:
Law & Order...never watched it so won't matter.
Studio 60...one less reason to watch NBC when it is gone.
Friday Night Lights...I like it, but it isn't a must see for me.
30 Rock...Love this show, and again another reason not to watch NBC if it goes.

ABC:
According to Jim...never watched
George Lopez...never watched
In Case of Emergency...It isn't horrible better than Knights
Knights of Prosperity...I don't know why I watch it lol.
What About Brian...I liked it when it started but it has been a little flat lately.
Men In Trees...it isn't bad but hasn't been as good lately.

CBS:
Close to Home...record but never really watch
Rules of Engagement...I like it and I usually hate sitcoms
The Class...deleted the season pass after episode 2
Jericho...I like it but it is a little slow.

FOX:
Til' Death...another sitcom I actually kind of like.
The War At home...same as above. I like it
Standoff...no real loss.

CW:
Gilmore Girls...it can die especially after killing Everwood to be kept.
Veronica Mars...stopped watching before the new channel aired.
7th Heaven...never watched

Oh well every year it seems I can deactivate one more DVR in my house.

Obviously there is a difference. But this is a death watch thread and those shows are dying for various reasons. At least one of the shows mentioned in the article is just ending on its own and not being canceled. If you don't care about the info, just ignore it. Who cares.

Agreed. You're just being argumentative for no reason at all.

I so agree with you. As I was reading that article, I kept thinking about it and couldn't figure out which one I would rather see stay. It's a tough call.

I'd be very upset if Veronica Mars gets cancelled, but the writing has been on the wall since season 1 really. It has always struggled, and at this point, I just don't see it getting a late ratings resurgence. As much as I used to love Gilmore Girls, the show really should just stop. After dropping Supernatural this season (too many eps built up on my DVR with too little room), there could be very slim pickings on the CW for me next year.

Veronica Mars might survive. I can't bet money on it, but it's CW's only prestige show.

Besides, what could they replace it with that would pull any kind of ratings against House and American Idol?

Huh?

It wasn't ever GG or Everwood. GG was perhaps The WB's best performer. You could argue it was VM or Everwood or OTH or Everwood. I personally see it being 7th Heaven or Everwood, though.

I wonder if the CW will try something different and run a truncated season (13 episodes?) at a different time of year.

I'm not expecting another season, but I feel pretty comfortable with the run we've gotten, especially since it's always been on the bubble.

If they're going to try something different, why not try to release the actors to work elsewhere but try to sign them to do the voices. Do a 10 episode season straight to DVD via animation or something. Hey, it would be different.

The way I read it was that CW didn't want two family-focused shows and when the stupidly gave '7th Heaven' season 11, it was basically giving '7th Heaven' 'Everwoods' spot...

NBC
Law & Order- this show does need to be cancelled. this used to be such a great crime drama, but now with all the original cast members gone exept for McCoy this show has really hit the lowest of quality this year. with Fontana gone and that new girl there the show just plain sucks. I hope NBC puts this show to rest before it gets even worse.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent- unlike the original L&O, CI has been great this year, but only when Chris Noth and his partner are on. the 2 original DET. arn't good anymore and they should take them off and have Noth on the whole season. other than that this show is great and should stay on for years to come.

Crossing Jordan- through i like this show, it was never a 'I love this show' kind of thing. I hope it stays for another season but this season so far has been pretty lackluster exept for last weeks episode which was half decent.

Medium- This show should have been cancelled from day one. this is one of if not the worst show on tv.

The Apprentice- This show should be Canned now!

Studio 60: OTSS- SUCKS! Cancel! awful show.

30 Rock & Scrubs- DON'T cancel 30 rock because it is the second best comedy on tv right now next to my favorite comedy of all time, SCRUBS! come on NBC we just want a season 7, please deliver.

ABC
George Lopez, In case of Emergency, according to jim & Knights of prosperity- all poor excuses for comedy, cancel them all!

Men In trees- Keep it on, its a pretty decent show, better than shark but not as good as ER.

What about Brian?- Boring, awful show!

CBS
Close to home- they should have called this show close to boring, cause its pretty formulaic it been done before type of show. i hope it gets cancelled so that Las Vegas geat the #1 spot in the ratings in that timeslot.

The Class- I hated friends, and i hate this.

fOX
I hate every show on fox!

CW
I hope the network goes under, they cancelled Reba!
