From: In the Middle
The Sopranos
The Wire (love how they used a variation of the same song each season. S4 was my favorite rendition).
Deadwood
The Office UK
Scrubs
Extras (I love the use of Tea for Tillerman in the closing credts)
Gilmore Girls (my wife and kids love it...personally, not so much).

Contrastly, I can't stand the theme for Rome.

Also, add Hawaii Five-O to that list.

I also quite like several Anime theme songs(Cowboy Bebop and many others).

You and I have similar tastes, though I've never heard the Jack & Bobby theme.

I LOVE L.A. Law, even though I never watched the show.

Jack & Bobby theme was from the movie The Patriot.

The visuals have a lot to do with the success of the theme. In the case of Jack & Bobby the visual cues of signing a presidential document to a young Bobby signing his homework, really worked with the instrumental music.

Amen! Fortunately it's exactly three 30 second skips to get to the show, so I never hear any of it.

The Office
How I met Your Mother
The Simpsons
Smallville (I'm tired of it, but my kids still love to sing along to it when they hear it, though, as they're all under 10 we generally don't let any of them watch it)

The Addams Family
Gilligan's Island
Green Acres
The Patty Duke Show
Bonanza (Lorne Greene even cut a vocal version of this & it's a hoot!)

Weird -- We Used to be Friends is the first thing that popped into my mind. I only know it as the theme from "VM", and I MUST listen to it, too. I do like it, though -- at least in that brief version with the show.

I'll be catching up with S3 on DVD eventually -- did they change the song for S3, so do they still use it but it didn't seem "a perfect match" anymore?

This was the only DVD TV set I let the theme play each time.

This is it. This is it.
This is life, the one you get
So go and have a ball.

This is it. This is it
Straight ahead and rest assured
You can’t be sure at all.

So while you’re here enjoy the view
Keep on doing what you do
So hold on tight we'll muddle through
One day at a time, One day at a time.

So up on your feet. Up on your feet
Somewhere there’s music playing.
Don’t you worry none
We’ll just take it like it comes.

One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
One day at a time, one day at a time.
Thanks for posting the lyrics. I was never clear on the bolded part.
