Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Noticing that everyone is too busy on their electronic devices to actually interact with one another, Claire and Phil declare a family challenge to see who can stay unplugged the longest. Meanwhile, it's a race against the clock as Mitchell and Cameron frantically try to get Lily into the best pre-schools, and Jay and Manny are concerned about how far Gloria will go to alleviate their problem with the neighbor's barking dog.

Cam: "Disabled interracial lesbians with an African kicker?"
Mitchell: "Did not see that coming."

Manny: "Is that the rat shovel?"
Jay: "Yeah."
Manny: "Are you checking it for signs of dog?"

Cam trying to talk like an Indian.

Neighbor: "Lucky guy."
Jay: "Wait a minute, then tell me."

Gloria: "Now the keeds are happy, Manny can sleep, and we have peekles!"

All three stories were great tonight. It was obvious that the daughter was carving something out of soap to fool her parents.

Manny: Dont call me a rat! Mom kills rats!

Another great episode! Eventhough you could tell Haley was plotting something and that there was going to be a couple to upstage Cam and Mitchell, the setup and execution for the stories were done perfectly!

In an episode of great moments/quotable lines, this one was, hands down, the best.

This show just continues to bring it. I don't watch (haven't given a shot) to some big name shows, but this one is the funniest on TV. My current favorite show.

Luke: "Oh my god, there's no fire escape, they cut corners."
(as he swings the axe) "I'll cut your corners!"

I loved Gloria killing the rat and the idea that she has no problem killing other animals.

Re: Modern Family -- "Unplugged" -- 10/20/10

This was probably one of the best episodes of the show so far. Every storyline was strong and consistently delivered laughs.

Mitch: "Leave it to the gays to raise the only under-achieving Asian in America."

Luke: "One second, I'm about to beat dad's record."
Phil: "You heard your mother!"

Cam: "What did she say?"
Mitch: "She says to buy her a Blackberry."
Cam: "Lilly doesn't have the dexterity for that Claire! What is happening?!"

Manny: "Who are you really mad at Larry? The dog or your wife?"
Larry: "Who the hell is this kid?"

Phil: "For the next week I may as well be Amish. Jedediah Dunphy. Raising barns, witnessing murders, making electric fireplace hearts."

lol @ Alex wanting a new computer, Haley wanting a new car, and Luke only wanting chicken pot pie.

Gloria killing the rat was awesome. Then heading straight to church.

Alex: "What's the difference between a gamete and a zygote."
Phil: "Don't fall for it Claire, she's just making up words."

Manny: "I like how Hemingway gets to the point."
Jay: "You like a lot of his stuff?"
Manny: "That was a hint Jay."

Cam: "Take a chance? That sounds chancy."

Manny: "Is that the rat shovel...Well let's do this quick. If she catches us we're as dead as that dog probably is...Don't call me a rat, she kills rats!"

Haley killed it at the end. That was so awesome. And Cam pretending to be a Native American at the end, haha.

Gloria: "No way he is going to my village. I was in two car accidents when I was leaving there. Both times I hit a goat. One was hurt pretty bad, but it was a good thing I had that shovel in the trunk."

Gloria setting off the car alarm, and the bit about her leaving the rat's head out as a warning to the other rats.

Gloria: (shoving "rat shovel" into Jay's hand) I go to church now.
Jay: She left the head out there to send a message to the other rats.

That was great.

I was wondering how Cam and "the fire-haired man" Mitch were going to be outminoritied.
It was great the way their faces just dropped when she wheeled in.

I think it was the best one of the series so far, although I saw the "wheelchair lesbian" thing in the previews several times before the show was on. Cam doing the Indian voice was hilarious. He reminded me of Jonathan Winters. I don't know how the other two guys were able to keep a straight face.

Great thing about this episode is that all three storylines were A material, and every character got laughs.

1st cut: Jaaaayyyyy!!!!
2nd cut: Jaaaaaaaayyyy!!!!
3rd cut: Jaaaaaaaayyyy!!!

On a personal note, I'm seriously thinking of changing my name to "Jay" because I like hearing her scream it.
