This episode wasn't that great, Hiro usually carries the show with his Ando partner but in this, his father and sister was a waste, served no purpose other than "look who we've brought in". Nikki/Micah/D.L., how many more episodes are we supposed to care about them? I lost interest long time ago. Sylar and HRG, um, ok, so here's the guy who's the biggest threat to you, drugged you, hooked you up like a test rat, and you let him live? LOL, I understand the writers do not want to write off HRG but come on. Claire's mom did "seem" act like she knew what the hell was going on or was it just a mother's sense about the various questions on her daughter?

I agree that the Nikki storyline is boring as hell. I wish they would just kill her off because I just can't stand watching it anymore. I rather watch a faucet drip or something.

The Nikki storyline bugged me as well until last night, but I think it's going to really pay off once one side or the other actually takes over and she starts wrecking things physically.

The payoff on the Nikki storyline is going to have to be huge, but I imagine it won't be. She'll probably be offed by Syler in one of the web comics and I'll be left wondering why everyone's at her funeral.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying the show.

Yeah, they've started to put a wee bit too much plot in the webcomics.

What I found most interesting is we now know that Save the Cheerleader wasn't really save the cheerleader but have Peter meet her so he can learn her power.

I have to say, I was a bit disappointed that Claire's mom didn't greet Nathan with "Hello, asshole" when she called him on the phone.

Did anyone else notice this? You can rewatch it on NBC.com, about 30 seconds from the end of Part Four.

I definitely heard it, as well as the modem/fax handshake in Peter's head.

yeah going from a scene with him and peter to a nikki scene is pretty jaring.

I do hope they lose the nikki storyline, would make the show 100 times better.

I'm confused. In last week's episode, Claire's mom calls someone and says, "Guess who just called me?" or something like that. I assumed it was Claire's father. This weeks episode shows her calling Nathan and identifying herself as someone he may not remember.

Who did she call last week?

Better question: who was "Claude", who has broken off all connections to family and friends, calling before Peter confronted him on the 1/22 episode?

Yes, they introduced a new Hero during the 4-week break. There's a series called Wireless. I'm sure we'll eventually see the flesh & blood version of her soon.

Also, I'm pretty sure Walter from The Big Lebowski makes a cameo in issue 17.

Yea, I think so...

Spoiler:
There is a female hero introduced in the comics that can control that kind of stuff. She will debut on the FEB. 19 episode "Unexpected".

I have a question/gripe ...

Last week's ep ended with Sylar and HRG face-to-face and Sylar asking "How's Claire?"

Now, in the little "last week portion" of this ep we see Sylar escaping - something that actually wasn't shown last week (or was it?). So they kinda spoiled it, because then they go and show the actual escape a little later.

Overall I liked this episode .. nice way to progress the story, and set up some nice conflicts for later ..

Perhaps it is Sylar that causes the explosion in NY. After all, he appears to be gaining powers just as much as Peter. Maybe another Peter/Sylar encounter could cause it.

Yeah, that wasn't done very well. Watching the previews from last week, I asked my wife "did that happen last week?". Then when the go back to Sylar and HRG it's a few minutes before where last week ended.

/I usually don't comment on people misspelling words, but the word you are looking for is presumably. Methinks you've been saying that word wrong your whole life, kind of like people who say "Old-timer's disease" or "nucular".

Ok, back on topic - why the hell didn't Sylar kill HRG? Just because they are enemies, and it's better television if they are both gunning at each other?

I was under the impression that all of the heroes powers manifested at about the same time. Was this ever mentioned in the show, or was it just speculation by some posters? We obviously know this isn't true since Claire and her mom have had their powers for at least 15-16 years.

I'm starting to wonder if the powers are initially triggered by a traumatic situation, and the heroes end up with the power that is needed to survive that situation. Claire needed the healing power and her mom the ability to control fire to survive the house burning down. Nathan received the power of flight to survive the car accident. Nikki created the Jessica persona to survive the abuse by her father.
