I don't think that's Jenna Fischer. It really doesn't look anything like her.

Actually I take that back. I saw a picture of her on imdb.com and she's wearing the exact same dress and earrings so I guess it is her. The picture on imdb looks a lot more like "Pam" though.

So, why did Jim first have to give Pam the cell phone before he threw it up into the ceiling?

We assumed it was so that she could get the cell #.

cornflakeguy 01-18-07 11:34 PM

This is my first season to watch.

I laughed out loud when Michael refered to Angela as "Angela from Accounting." It's a 12 person office, how many Angela's are there?

Was that a running joke or just said to prove how little she makes on Michael?

boogieman03 01-18-07 11:52 PM

Angela asking Oscar to join the party planning committee. "Because I'm Gay?!?!"

rotfl

Rogue588 01-18-07 11:58 PM

For some reason I thought this would be the last hurrah for the Stamford people.

I hope i'm wrong.

I think that's a good explanation, but it really opened up the gag possibilities so I think it just made for good TV that way. For a second, I figured she discreetly replaced the ringtone with something that would get Andy in trouble or embarrass him in front of Michael.

I think we're getting pretty close to that. I don't see Andy lasting past (possibly) the next few episodes, or the end of the season at the latest. And in all likelihood the story arc with Karen will finish up in a season ending cliffhanger or something along those lines.

I think the joke was that Michael is so utterly clueless that Dwight and Angela are involved with one another that he thinks Dwight wouldn't know to whom he was referring unless he specified she was "Angela from Accounting."

and I agree with Sex Fiend (insert obligitory "that's what she said" comment here) this show did misfire after the opener but has returned to form last week and this week

was there a segment missing right after the last commercial break and directly before the credits? Ususally there has been a short sceen in this spot and the commercial going into the break said to stay tuned for more Office.

I was just going to post the same correction. Of course, there might have also been some "gay-action" during Oscar's "gay-cation." Don't ask, don't tell...

I wondered about that, too. The same thing occurred at the last break for "Earl" as well. I think NBC tricked us just so we would hang around and watch the over-the-end-credit promos.

Draven 01-19-07 01:23 AM

NBC does that constantly - Stay Tuned for more [Insert show] and you stick around to watch the credits.

Loved the whole episode - had some major laugh-out-loud moments from me. And Dwight and Angela were very sweet.

Andy punches through wall: "That...was an overreaction." I also laughed at his pose after he "caught" Jim

Brent_MN 01-19-07 02:22 AM

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Karen > Pam.

But Karen was a lot more fun the first few episodes she was on, probably through 1-2 eps after they merged. Now she's just sort of around.

I miss not having Dwight in the office...it didn't feel right at all.

The "Mexican Lemonaide" was a

As to the first picture, it's just some random one I picked from NBC.com to open up the thread. Sorry if it came off as a "spoiler". :(

Michael Corvin 01-19-07 07:08 AM

Another brilliant episode. The cell phone gag was great. I love how this show doesn't exist outside the realm of reality. Having references to Staples, Lost & Battlestar Galactica all in one episode. Nice touch.

I think we should have seen Dwight at Staples for another episode or two. Him getting into it with the other employees would have been great.

david12 01-19-07 07:35 AM

Mexicanity.

Patman 01-19-07 07:51 AM

Dwigt's Staples subplot was actually funnier then Andy's obsessiveness in the kiss-ass department. I was more aghast than Michael when Andy was all in Michael's personal space. Loved it when Jim hung up the call to the cell phone above the ceiling tiles after Andy went nutso and punched the wall. Dwigt's reaction to thinking they threw him a "Welcome back Oscar" party was excellent, plus the pinata thrashing.

lordwow 01-19-07 08:09 AM

One subtle thing that amused me that got overshadowed was Oscar going to grab the broom to hit the Pinata, and Michael passing it right by him to Dwight.

Also, props to Angela who made me laugh almost everytime she was on screen.

Where was the BSG reference?
When Andy tells Michael "You were like RA TE POW RE PAH and Pam was like BLAH BLE BOW" I was cracking up, and then Andy gave him this look that may have been the funniest facial expression of all time.

I thought that was a bit of a call back to Angela's talking head in the last episode, when she mentioned "Dwight. . . from Sales?" as if there were several other Dwights around the office.

That's what I thought as well.

I realize that Andy was supposed to be annoying, but he was EXCEPTIONALLY annoying!
