Spoiler:
Oscar returns from his vacation and ponders his future with the company, while Andy takes advantage of the current state of the office to make a move towards becoming Michael's number two.

Brent_MN 01-18-07 01:20 PM

I'll start off by showing you some Office hotness. From "Ross the Interns" blog:

Old photo--unless Ryan and Jim go back to their original desks tonight.

Who cares about the first picture? I'm enjoying the second...

I hope her hair is back to normal too. And am I the only one who didn't know that Rashida Jones is the daughter of Quincy Jones & Peggy Lipton?

If you're a big fan of the show, yeah, pretty much. If you're just a casual viewer, then, no......

I think he's pretty funny. He's so gay. His interactions with people are great.

JimmySRU 01-18-07 06:09 PM

cant wait either

TheStoicPaisano 01-18-07 06:32 PM

Is that Fischer in the GG picture? She looks like a less frumpy Rachel Dratch.

Obey The D 01-18-07 07:36 PM

You know Andy is a complete douche when even Michael looks at him like he's an idiot.

lordwow 01-18-07 07:58 PM

This show wasn't the funniest overall, but it had some of the biggest laugh out loud moments ever.

Plus the Jim/Karen conversation was what we'd all been waiting for.

Steam 01-18-07 08:09 PM

Michael's mannerisms around Andy were awesome. The pure hatred that he was exuding was hilarious.

The worst part of the episode was the fact that Ryan is still on the show and still a douche. What the hell is his role in the show? Yeeccch.

dpz301 01-18-07 08:19 PM

the joke on andy was pretty funny. michael hiding behind the door and not getting noticed

Haha I loved the fact he was doing the monolouge back there and Andy still couldn't figure it out.

Furthermore they give the guy opening credit billing. Yeah he writes and produces, but so does Kaling...and she's had more screen time overall. I wonder how she feels about that.

Anyway, as usual I enjoyed the episode; my favorite part would probably have to be Andy stalking Michael around the office. Michael's voice-over along with the actual footage of Andy frantically searching the office was hilarious.

GoldenJCJ 01-18-07 09:37 PM

Gotta love the An Officer and a Gentleman reference when Michael went to get Dwight back from his new job...complete with Up Where We Belong playing in the background.

Dwight waving off the blindfold as if it were some kind of advantage for a pinata was hilarious.

Sex Fiend 01-18-07 09:52 PM

Another pretty good ep tonight. Much like the last few weeks, not a lot of hilarious moments, but a few good chuckles. I am happy to see that slowly but surely, the show is getting back to the low key, charming tone of humor that made it so great for the first two seasons, after a few misfires in the earlier part of this season that had me worried.

It was cool to see Oscar return. And hear Phyllis's explanation of why she and Dwight didn't get along: "We both have big personalities."

Yeah, it's strange that every time I've seen her outside of the show recently, she looks like a completely different person. I understand that she adopts a certain style for the purposes of the show, but it is weird how different she looks out of character. I find that I definitely prefer her in "Pam" mode myself.

MrX 01-18-07 10:20 PM

The phone up in the celing was pretty funny. I liked how the camera kept going back and fourth between Jim and Pam to see which one of them was calling it.

Michael hiding behind the door was great too.

I dont think this show has misfired yet, Another excellent episode, some funny laugh out loud moments and great to hear Jim tell Karen he still has feelings for Pam. Dwight was funny in Staples. Micheal hiding from Andy was great. I liked the little moment too where Kevin telling Oscar about his "Gayaction" joke.

I don't think that's Jenna Fischer. It really doesn't look anything like her.

Actually I take that back. I saw a picture of her on imdb.com and she's wearing the exact same dress and earrings so I guess it is her. The picture on imdb looks a lot more like "Pam" though.

Snowmaker 01-18-07 11:14 PM

So, why did Jim first have to give Pam the cell phone before he threw it up into the ceiling?

cdollaz 01-18-07 11:27 PM

We assumed it was so that she could get the cell #.

cornflakeguy 01-18-07 11:34 PM

This is my first season to watch.

I laughed out loud when Michael refered to Angela as "Angela from Accounting." It's a 12 person office, how many Angela's are there?

Was that a running joke or just said to prove how little she makes on Michael?

boogieman03 01-18-07 11:52 PM

Angela asking Oscar to join the party planning committee. "Because I'm Gay?!?!"

rotfl

Rogue588 01-18-07 11:58 PM

For some reason I thought this would be the last hurrah for the Stamford people.

I hope i'm wrong.

I think that's a good explanation, but it really opened up the gag possibilities so I think it just made for good TV that way. For a second, I figured she discreetly replaced the ringtone with something that would get Andy in trouble or embarrass him in front of Michael.

I think we're getting pretty close to that. I don't see Andy lasting past (possibly) the next few episodes, or the end of the season at the latest. And in all likelihood the story arc with Karen will finish up in a season ending cliffhanger or something along those lines.

I think the joke was that Michael is so utterly clueless that Dwight and Angela are involved with one another that he thinks Dwight wouldn't know to whom he was referring unless he specified she was "Angela from Accounting."

the joke was too good to ruin with a type-o
"how was your gaycation"

and I agree with Sex Fiend (insert obligitory "that's what she said" comment here) this show did misfire after the opener but has returned to form last week and this week

was there a segment missing right after the last commercial break and directly before the credits? Ususally there has been a short sceen in this spot and the commercial going into the break said to stay tuned for more Office.

I was just going to post the same correction. Of course, there might have also been some "gay-action" during Oscar's "gay-cation." Don't ask, don't tell...

I wondered about that, too. The same thing occurred at the last break for "Earl" as well. I think NBC tricked us just so we would hang around and watch the over-the-end-credit promos.

Draven 01-19-07 01:23 AM

NBC does that constantly - Stay Tuned for more [Insert show] and you stick around to watch the credits.

Loved the whole episode - had some major laugh-out-loud moments from me. And Dwight and Angela were very sweet.

Andy punches through wall: "That...was an overreaction." I also laughed at his pose after he "caught" Jim

Brent_MN 01-19-07 02:22 AM

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Karen > Pam.

But Karen was a lot more fun the first few episodes she was on, probably through 1-2 eps after they merged. Now she's just sort of around.

I miss not having Dwight in the office...it didn't feel right at all.
