It's a little diner on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Maybe a couple of guys arguing in Japanese isn't exactly the weirdest thing to pass through there...

I know when I lived in Santa Monica for a few years, I got pretty used to the sights, sounds and smells that the city had to offer. After a while, nothing could've phased me.

I loved the "convenience store" sceen, it showed how he is going to gain control, or he is going to have a very hard time going into any public gathering.

Loved the show last night, "Up Up and Away!"

That's the thing that probably bothers me the most. I really dislike the narrative during the recap at the beginning of the show and Mohinder's voiceover at the beginning and end of each show. Not only do I find their writing very cheesy, but they don't give the viewer any new information.

Other than that, I'm really enjoying the show so far.

In regard to the recap narrative, I couldn't agree more. It feels like he should be starting each recap with "In a world...". As for Mohinder, I think his voiceover fits perfectly well with the comic book feel of the show, especially since it happens right after the chapter screen. I can almost imagine Stan Lee doing this.

You guys are dumb. Mindwiper is clearly played by Seal and DL is clearly played by DMX. Two different people!

By the way, how can half of you enjoy anything that isn't an unedited documentary if you don't allow yourselves to ignore shit like "nobody noticing a man flying in and landing"? You seem like you're your own killjoy.

How can you guys even tell? You see like two or three extras in the whole scene since it's so close up, and one of them (the brown haired girl in front of Hiro) turned her head in Hiro's direction when he yelled "Good riddance!" or whatever when his buddy left.

Or are we expecting a camera focus on people doing a full-front stare on the odd couple? I'd try to keep my head down if two people were yelling violently in a language I don't understand in a small diner in the middle of nowhere at 9 in the morning.

I inferred that it was Sylar standing over the cheerleader's dead body. It looked like the top of her skull was cut off and the brain removed, just like the father at the murder scene near the orphaned daughter and the painter in Hiro's apocolyptic future trip.

I guess that's how Sylar takes their power (all Highlanderish) or that's how you officially kill these folks. I wonder if Sylar is killing Heroes in order to obtain their powers, and that's what makes him superpowerful.

Could Sylar be the mimic from the future? Perhaps he ate Hiro's brain at some point and is now back in the time the show is set in accumulating other powers.

Sylar must have to have the brain .. It was assumed that in the bar he was able to block the cop from reading minds, but he certainly didn't keep the Senator from flying.

Well I was liking the show before, but now I am 100% hooked after last night. Fast becoming my most-anticipated show of the week (surpassing LOST)... The way that Peter took on the painter's power really sealed it for me.

Also, Nathan taking off flying was really a "cool!" moment. I liked the sonic boom/change of direction he made. Actually made my wife jump.

My first thought was the landing was really cool, but it was still odd nobody else noticed except Hiro. The non-heroes really seem oblivious most of the time.

I thought the show took a big jump in quality last week and this episode was even a little better. The brothers became a lot more interesting. 2 weeks ago I thought they were one of the weak points

He isn't superpowerful, he has telekinesis.

Which would have been fine if it hadn't been directed/written the way it was - the people's audible thoughts were annoying me more than they were annoying him. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

Then, I'd say the effect worked.

I'm really getting into the show, and glad they're taking their time with the discovery of the powers. The characters are all stumbling over themselves (so to speak) with what's going on as opposed to: Week 1 - New Powers, Week Two - Justice League!! Week Three - Save the World From Galactus!!! To me, the learning is the fun part about this. Once they all meet up and know what they can do, it'll be a different type of show, which is fine as long as the writing doesn't get crappy.

How can Hiro read the comic book if it's in English?

I imagine he has probably had a couple of courses in English along the way, much like I have had a couple of classes in French and Russian. I couldn't really make a phone call to somebody, but I could at least possibly figure out little word balloons if I had drawings to help me.

I think all Japanese students have several years of English classes. They're usually still hesitant about speaking, but I think they can read fairly well.

I'll believe that. It just seemed with his frustration with the car manual being all in english, that he couldn't read it very well.

Then he should at least be able to read parts of the car manual.

And for those avoiding spoilers, the latest graphic novel contains huge spoilers about D.L.

I don't think he has stopped time and "shared it" with anyone else (yet)... when he stopped time to talk with Peter, I believe it was Peter sharing the ability which allowed them to be "together" in the absense of time. All the other "timeshifts" were him moving in time and the people just "see" the immediate effects... i.e. Girl vs. Bus, Waitress vs. Drink, Cowboy vs. Cards...

As for Larter:
Not quite sure how an Alter-Ego is a superpower... seems to get her into a lot of trouble... don't know what "good" could come of it... other than protecting herself, being that she is quite the bad-ass in her Jeckel character...

This show was pretty dissapointing for ep. 1 and 2... I continued to watch "hoping" it would develop... 3 was better... 4, well now I'm hooked... This is a nice "fill-in" for me until the 4400 returns next year!!!
